I'd bet it's one of the following:

Las Vegas
Denver
Austin
Nashville
Atlanta
Raleigh/Durham
Orlando

I'm going to say NE like Boston. Lots of young talent in the area and still surrounded by a liberal culture.

Is there a similar tech area on the East Coast?
Northern Virginia is a big tech hub and houses the majority of Amazon's data services

Yeah I'm sure these 50K employees with children will love to send their kids to public schools in Louisiana.

Hopefully it relieves some pressure out here.

Amazon’s extraordinary growth has turned Seattle into the biggest company town in America.

Amazon now occupies a mind-boggling 19 percent of all prime office space in the city, the most for any employer in a major U.S. city, according to a new analysis conducted for The Seattle Times.

Amazon’s footprint in Seattle is more than twice as large as any other company in any other big U.S. city, and the e-commerce giant’s expansion here is just getting started.

The swarms of 20-somethings crowding into South Lake Union every morning represent an urban campus that is unparalleled in the United States — and they have helped transform Seattle, for better or worse. Amazon’s rapid rise has fueled an economy that has driven up wages and lowered unemployment, but also produced gridlock on the roads and sky-high housing prices.

Not many places equal to Seattle on that front if we want to be honest about it

My guess is that those people came from all over the country and world to work in Seattle where they adjusted to that corporate and local vibe.

They came there in part FOR Seattle.

My company's west coast office is in a downtown Seattle highrise. If you told ANY of those people they were moving to a conservative east Texas suburb masquerading as a fake town, they'd quit on the spot.

This office isn't starting from scratch. They'll have to move a significant worker and executive "seed" corps. There's a small list of cities where those people will move, and remember the executives making the decisions have the same prejudices, believe me. They also need LOCAL tech talent and a place that ALREADY attracts tech workers.

Basically: Denver, Austin, Nashville, or somewhere in North Carolina like the research triangle because it's pretty, nice, new, and has a lot of local talent. They sure as frick aren't setting up shop in some hellhole like Memphis and they want a low-tax low-regulation environment, so it ain't going to be New York or New Jersey.

That's because the tax rate in CA has driven them out. The problem is that the democrats can't understand why their agenda doesn't work but continues the same rhetoric when they transfer to states like Texas.

You fools sure do make up some shite man. Why the f do you think SF is the most expensive place in the union? What's happening there to make people flock in droves?

I mean why throw your name in the hat for 50K plus jobs? Even if you don't have a great chance of landing it you do it!!!! Put your petty arse politics aside for a minute.
