What about Charlotte? Or Nashville, both make more sense geographically for logistical purposes than Texas.
howso?

Both cities would be good locations. Texas not have state income tax is still a big selling point when asking employees to move.

IBM can't even fully staff the brand new downtown BR location. There's a zero percent chance this thing comes to Louisiana.

New Orleans is the only metro area in LA with over a million people, and that isn't going to happen... so yeah, basically a zero percent chance.

Might as well come to North Dallas like everyone else Amazon.

You even have a DC here.

Slidell would be a great fit. They could put it right off I-12 by the mall where all that land is and could have people come in to work from across the lake and even the MS gulf coast.

Because most cities bend over backwards to lure and provide incentives while the Louisiana way tends to involve greasing palms.

Yeah I mean, why should the governor try to attract a huge company bringing 50k jobs

He absolutely should try.

It's just almost certainly a futile effort.

All they have to do is transform the old Fruit of the Loom plant in jeanerette. It's perfect.

Definitely.

Especially if they are spreading it out over several regional locations.

It's just unlikely to happen.

Louisiana doesn't have 50k white collar people in one area of the state to begin with.

My body is ready for the downvotes.

Precisely. For someone to say he'd be embarrassed if he tried is idiotic

They haven't picked a place but North Dallas has its own tech corridor now as well as other fortune 500 companies.

They have a DC in Coppell and AWS services here in Dallas.

I have actually considered trying to move over because they pay six figs + .

He's got to try. New Orleans and Baton Rouge are each too small, but if they can sell the area as one large market and commit to infrastructure improvements, they might have a realistic shot at some of those jobs.

I just think the area is far more likely to attract businesses that need access to the river. Would be nice if JBE focused on some kind of economic development.

Betting on Raleigh-Durham.

This would be a good bet. Somewhere in Virginia would make sense, too.

TX has to be the leader in the clubhouse.

Plenty of land, center of US and 3 hour flight to anywhere in country, no state income tax, reasonable cost of living.

The Austin/San Antonio region i can see, maybe somewhere in between like a Buda or Kyle/San Marcos.

If DFW id have to say more on the FW side since Toyota and everything else has gone the route of the Dallas/Collin County side. I could see something near the TX Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. Amazon already has a MASSIVE distribution hub there.

It's not going to be a distribution warehouse! They're not looking for Jethro and Mimi to come stuff boxes.

This is going to be a white collar office.

There aren't 50,000 Amazon-caliber coders, industrial distribution professionals and accountants from Baton Rouge to Pensacola.
