but they genuinely seemed afraid for their life in this video.
When you DON'T hear them repeatedly saying "stop resisting", you know they are in fear for their lives, like in this video.
Stop resisting is a code word for "I have this situation under control, but I want to justify kicking your arse if this is being recorded"

But I just don't understand.. they have him up close and personal.. it just doesn't seem like this has to be the option.. especially that many shots.
You serious Clark?
Up close and personal is freaking worse when someone has a handgun. All he had to was get it out and fire and chances are he would hit one of them.
If they knew he had a gun, why even go for the tackle why not draw down and ask him to lay on his stomach? No way these guys go after him like that knowing he had a gun.

Wouldn't be a police video without a black guy saying "Oh, shite!" in the same way they all do.
What would you have said. Because I damn sure know me and every white person I know what have said Oh shite lol

That's hearsay by the reporter and not a direct quote. "Falling off" could easily mean just dangling because they fell from where they were clipped.

Anybody know if they're going off in NBR over this tonight?

I searched "Baton Rouge" on Twitter and judging from all the tweets it is pretty obvious that English teachers in our public school systems have failed miserably.

I didn't get the tackle either given they are already under assumption he has a gun.. perhaps he felt he had a good opportunity to address the situation.. which is what they are suppose to do.
The video doesn't show everything though.. so we have to remember they reportedly did try tasering him (which I appreciate very much actually as an alternative action)
Maybe they would have been better off shooting him once from afar and see how it goes, I don't know.. but then they would take shite for that as well. No doubt.
Such a rough profession.

The rouge collection?
Nice.
Nice.

I don't disagree, but I still think it is pretty tragic when this has to end in a death.

So resisting or just not complying fast enough for a cops liking is punishable by death without an opportunity for a trial huh? Good to know. I'll act like one of them goats that fall over when frightened next time a cop breathes with his mouth open to make sure I don't get shot.

Defintitely agree, grossly underpaid as well. These folks have families and put their lives on the line regularly for 50k a year. Despicable if you ask me.

Resisting with a gun in your pocket and a warrant out for your arrest isn't a good start.
Posted on 7/5/16 at 9:07 pm to ell_13
That's not going to matter. The video is violent enough to rile some folks up.

Sounded to me like they said "gun, he's got a gun."

So now, we have to yell "It's coming right for us!" Before we can shoot it."

You are an idiot. Go kill yourself.

No doubt. The advocate had quotes from the family saying he wouldn't hurt a fly and things of that sort. Then they lost his rap sheet. Sex offender. Multiple guilty pleas for various crimes. Current warrant out. Not that any of that is relevant really. But he's been in jail for illegal possession of a firearm before. And he knew he was likely heading back if the cops found the gun again. Good chance it's stolen as well. We will see.

And Mike Brown went for Wilson's gun, but we saw how much that mattered.
