They didn't fall off. They sit around their necks and clip to the from of the shirt. They were there but just dangling after coming I clipped during the tussle. The audio is still useful.

ever hear of figure of speech?
Someone gets killed like this, don't say I was two feet away when you were actually twenty feet away behind a register barely able to see through all of the posters in the window advertising 2 King Cobras for $4. Media flocked to his story and might cause problems for other business owners.
If you didn't see shite, don't say shite just to get your big nose in the media.

Why do I care?

Other cop pulls his and warns him not to use it. Second cop then yells something about perp reaching for the gun. Pow pow. It looks bad because it's at very close range but the cop was justified.
One said "he's got a gun [in hand or in pocket, we don't know- store owner said pocket] Other one said "if you move"

how about 10 feet away outside of his store?

You did not hear what happened? Not one, but both cameras "fell off" the cops and there is no body cam footage.
In a struggle like this that isn't unlikely. But, they need to make sure they fricking fuse those cameras to their uniforms in the future. Absolutely unacceptable to have hardware fail like that when the stakes are so high. I haven't even heard of this case until now, but I'll look into it. I would definitely like to hear the audio from the body cams, but regardless it's fricking pathetic that they can't mount a body cam to a police vest that will not "fall off".

Can clearly hear one officer say "He's going in his pocket...he has a gun".
If true that's bad.. but again, I hope it wasn't an overreaction.

Could have possible been the perp firing from his pocket if he manages to get a hand in the gun?
Could be, but doesn't seem to be the case according the the witness.. (but many don't believe his account here of course) but again I wouldn't rule anything out. I guess at this point I hope it was truly necessary.
Such a rough profession to be in.. I really do respect what they have to go through.

Just say "It happened outside and I wasn't out there"
Not "I was two feet away and they grabbed the gun after".
No way he saw it.

They can only get what the market supplies. It's not like the police manufacture these things. Jesus people.

No doubt about it. Not blaming the cops here at all, more the people who build the cameras.... Hey, you want to start a business which builds a camera inside a bullet proof vest that is mounted into the vest so that it cannot move or be broken? Might be some money up in this SHIOTTT

I've watched the video a few times trying to make sense of it.
It's seems to me that both cops tensed up and became afraid at the same exact time over something that the felon did, shouting something about a gun. One cop pulled his gun and gave the guy an ultimatum to not do what he was about to do. The felon did whatever he did anyways, and you see both cops afraid again at the same time, and the trigger was pulled as a result.
Whether the guy pulled a gun or not, he made a move that resulted in the cops being scared for their safety. It seems unfortunate but justified to me. Maybe not the numerous shots, but they genuinely seemed afraid for their life in this video.

Take that up with BRPD who stated they fell off.
quote:
State Rep. Denise Marcelle said she was told by Baton Rouge Police Chief Dabadie that body cameras worn by both officers fell off during the incident
also, there has been much talk abut the owner stating he was "2 feet away". BUt I do not see documentation he said that. All reports just say he witnessed it. ANyone have the "2 feet" link?
quote:
"God bless his soul. It could've, it could have, it could have been handled differently. Much differently. On both sides it could have been handled differently," Muflahi said.
Police have not confirmed whether or not Sterling was in possession of a gun.
Muflahi said he did not see a gun in Sterling’s hand, but he said he did see officers pull a gun out of Sterling’s pocket after the shooting.
