I'm often working when we're going somewhere so I make her drive.
And she doesn't really drink so I always have a DD.

My wife is my DD. She very seldom drinks and I often times get shitty drunk. Besides that she doesn't drive. Makes me feel like a pussy if I'm riding shotgun, kids in back, and my wife is driving us around. It's just a dude thing I guess. I'd compare it to the wife picking up on heavy stuff, fixing things, or protecting my family. It just comes natural. I'm convinced that my BIL is a fig and that's one of the things that we laugh about. They pull up to every fam gathering with him sitting comfortably in the passenger seat while his wife drives him around. His excuse is that he commutes 30 min s day and his wife 10 min. Says it's her turn to drive.

I probably drive 90 percent of the time, but sometimes I just don't feel like driving so I ask her if she wants to drive. She usually says no, unless I've been drinking.

My husband drives 90% of the time when we are together. If I'd offer, he'd be perfectly okay with that, but being chauffeured is nice. The OP sounded a bit too judgmental.

I let her drive so I can see how she's shifting. I bought her a manual sedan and she goes through stages of bad clutch work, needless up shifting...but she's been pretty tight with everything recently.
