.I go above and beyond for my patients and customers.
with the way you characterize, judge, and describe your patients/customers, its extremely hard to believe that you go "above and beyond".... hell, in your OP you even said there are things you will not do for them... that's not "above and beyond"...
and yes, we do dispense it.... at this particular location, not often, but i have been in stores that it flying off the shelf... but i still never looked at those patients as 'scumbags"... maybe it's the former addict in me... or maybe i was just raised better than you.... or maybe i value myself and other human beings just way more than you do... i dunno... but i'm very, VERY grateful that i don't have the same outlook on my patients, profession, and life that you evidently do....

That's a bad attitude towards your customers.

Second, print a fricking coupon from the manufacturer's website to help relieve you of any copay. Its easy to download...and NO....I am not going to do it for you. I cannot stand most of you motherfricking addicts to begin with, so get your shite together before walking in the store
Dude they are strung out and just need a little help.

Also, the films are fricking expensive, so dont give me some lame arse excuse about not knowing how much these are. Its pays to try to get clean...even though most of yall scumbags will never be clean. Thats pretty much all. Go frick yourselves.
So they get a frick you for trying to get clean?

You sound like one of those hollier than thou pharmacist that thinks they know more than the Doc a person has been seeing for years and who knows the patient's entire medical history, and you want to frick with, comment about, or question what the Dr has prescribed based on just looking at someone.
Just look at the script, do what the fricking Doc says, and STFU. If you wanted to prescribe meds you should have chose a different field.
The only real "skill" you have over the average Joe is being able to read the Doc's handwriting and a cpl words of Latin.
No offense Chrxis.

Now anyone that has gotten past the 6th grade can be a pharmacist.
this right here shows that you have no actual knowledge of what pharmacy school is about...
quote:
So I guess my question is why go to school to count medicine?
we don't... we go to school to understand the medicinal therapy and how to intervene on behalf of the patient... when it comes down to the actual medicine, i can GUARANTEE we know a shite ton more about it than your physician... at least most of them... we understand the mechanism of action, dosages, side efffects, expected outcome, storage, potential drug-drug interaction, etc.... THAT is why we go to school and earn a doctorate... the shite ain't easy, and it's only getting much harder as newer, better, more tailor-made drugs come out....
if all we did was count pills and get paid the $150K we do, then why the frick you ain't doing it?

Lol. All they have to do is get the right number of pills in the bottle

I want to give you a big FU! Some people on here when I right this will know who I am. I don't care. I was prescribed opiates after a serious ATV accident. I took the normal dose at first but then it got to where they weren't helping and I upped my own dose. And kept doing that until I started running out early and would have to "seek" more. I ruined a great job actually, no pun, high up on the ladder offshore because of this. You're body shuts down when you don't have the opiates or as many as I was taking.
Now fast forward a few years and yes subs work if you use them correct. I can now say I dont need either one and have full custody of my daughter. So don't come on here raving about crap like that and think everyone is scum. It happens to even us who live in nice neighborhoods and never asked to be that way.

it's all good bro... i'm not like other pharmacists... i'm one of the most chill, relaxed, caring, and people friendly pharmacists you will ever meet... i'd give out where i work, to try and drive business, but that may get a little weird down the road for some people to meet me in IRL, perhaps... however, if you are ever in the Cortana area, and are stocking up on toilet paper to bring to your uncle Sam's house, come shake my hand and introduce yourself... i'd love to meet you guys, even if you don't fill with me....

You have an astounding lack of perspective and you are a disgrace to the noble profession of pharmacy. I'll be waiting at Sonic.
And for all of you who have comments about me counting pills, I spend more time counting Benjis.

I feel like there's a hidden clue here.

Exactly. I think there's an awful lot of addicts who started out because a doctor prescribed opiates for a legitimate reason. It does seem like they are over prescribed though, and I think that is what is driving the current heroin crisis. There needs to be a complete overhaul of doctor's prescription practices. In the meantime, Suboxone seems to be the best temporary solution.

I think you still have to take responsibility for the fact that you chose to self medicate and increase your dosage.
I get pain. I broke my neck seven months ago, I live with pain every day of my life and probably will for the rest of it. I've been prescribed nerve pills, pain pills, and muscle relaxers. Ultimately I know that none of those has the ability to fix me, so I just deal with it, and they are expiring in a cabinet.
Sometimes you just have to be strong enough to accept your own reality and deal with it, if you're not that strong then okay, but the outcome of that is still your responsibility, and your weakness, and is for you to deal with. If people don't have compassion for you then it's their issue, but not something you can reasonably expect or demand from others. You just have to deal.

You sound like a good Pharmacist and as someone who deals with a Pharmacy 12 months a years,I can appreciate your effort on behalf of your customers.
I love my Pharmacy. They couldn't treat me better.I helped put their Daughter through Pharmacy School at Auburn.
I take a 8 prescriptions a month.Only 1 is scheduled. So having a Pharmacist that goes to bat for me is pretty important.
I take the same meds every month.Same Doctor.Usually Refills.Only 1 paper Script a month.
eta: 14 months ago I had a Total Knee Replacement on my Rt Knee.I was prescribed and taking 24 mg of HydroMorphone and 60 mg of MS Contin a day while at in-patient rehab.
I about died coming off all that.Dropped to Norco and still went through horrible withdrawals.
I still take Norco as needed.

I'm in NW AL, but if u ever do find myself in the situation you described I will do just that.
Not all pharmacist are bad by any means, and you seem cool in here. I've stuck with the same place, for the most part, for the past 20 years, and I drive around 20-30 mins away to stick with them because of the way they are.
But I've encountered several like the OP in my escapades over the years, so I know that type as well.
