True. 50 years, though? I don't know. We would need to see the U.S. rot from the inside out. There would have to be absolute pandemonium. I'm talking 28 days later shite. Biological warfare? That could tip the scales.
But, the number one weapon in war is intelligence. And we've got the best in the business. I'll put the U.S. military up against anything, really.

It was Yamamoto, and it is, at least at this point, apocryphal.
However, he would have known better than anyone - he was twice the Japanese naval attache in DC, a Harvard graduate, and a great admirer of the US. He was vehemently opposed to starting any war with the United States even in the build up to Pearl Harbor, but he obviously chose crown and duty over personal predilections.
He is a pretty interesting cat - probably one of the greatest naval minds of the 20th century, and it was a massive coup when we managed to finally track and kill him.
