I had a thread awhile back if ISIS could take over Louisiana alone. La with no outside help and no military aid whatsoever. It was a stupid thread though.

Read a book based off the video game "Homefront" where north Korea sent a tanker up the Mississippi river irradiating it cutting the country in half. Depending on the forces amassed against the US military and strategies used to cripple our forces I'd say it's possible to invade, but occupation would be next to impossible with a populace this well armed. Just my opinion.

I agree, but nothing is truly impossible and in 50 years, how technology has progressed over the past 50, it's safe to say we may not even be able to comprehend the dangers in the present.

No doubt, but I'd like to think that it won't be the US using 2014 technology vs China using 2064 technology. Hopefully we'll stay on top.

Not to mention, this may be getting too technical but China may not even be the #1 threat then. They have a lot of social issues they're dealing with right now. Pollution, separatists that are willing to commit acts of terror, and a highly unnatural demographic.

That one child policy will be something to look out for. Not only will you have countless families where 1 child is trying to pay for 2 elderly parents but you have a disproportionate male to female ratio.

Given nk's technology that we know of. I think we got that.

they don't care when we nuke their homeland, they're abandoning it because it's too polluted. After the years of bloody fighting and coups and subduing rebel civilian militias and whatnot, the troops will gain order on the western continent

So Canada and Mexico get fricked too? Maybe Russia helps do the fricking through alaska?

Does it happen within the next 50 years? Even with our federal government leaning toward more socialistic values. I believe our military stands unmatched. What do you think will transpire?

No.

No country right now could make a land invasion worth a shite in the near future. Getting a large army across an ocean takes a lot of effort

You have a point. The illegals I know could make for good soldiers.

invading the US, Russia, or China is basically a fool's errand. if any collapse, it will be from within

Yeah, that's the key. By that time there may be underground colonies, cities, etc with a manmade atmosphere on mars. May use other planets for prisons lol who knows. India may find a new metal on mars making it the richest country.

But yeah, staying on top may be near impossible.

If they came over here it would be open season on any invading force. USA is the most heavily armed civilian population on the planet.

Not sure if it's the Chinese or Japanese but they have a saying about America: "behind every blade of grass, a rifle"

Not as much grass in Yankee territory though...
