Heard him flying overhead when I got home this evening. Those old engines sounded great.

I think it was a b-17 my grandfather flew in WW2. He told us when we were young that there were no bathrooms aboard so he took shits in the bombs they were dropping on the Germans.

I have made several trips on a C-130 and was telling my Dad, a WW2 vet, about my "adventures" and that our only bathroom was basically a port-a-potty. My Dad, who flew all over the Pacific in a C-47, said the only bathroom they had was their steel pot helmets and when they finished their business, threw their funk out the door.

If he was flying southeast he ain't gonna make it to Lake Chuck. I think there's something at Lakefront Airport this weekend.
I'm going way back, but does anybody remember when the Confederate Air Force used to do the fly-overs at Tiger Stadium in the mid-70's? I remember one year a P-47, F4U, and a P-38 did the stadium fly-over. The P-38 crashed the next day at an airshow in Lafayette; the pilot was killed and the plane "The Scatterbrain Kid" was heavily damaged.

Awesome sight and sound.
Now imagine the sound of hundreds of them at a time, clouding the sky like a bunch of geese or ducks.
One of my uncles (I had 7 who served in WWII) was a top turret gunner / flight engineer on a B-17. I can only imagine what he went through.
Rest in peace, Uncle Clovis.

Going to check them out on Friday.
Eta: I think they're going to have a B-29 Superfortress there, too.
