On another, somewhat related yet 16 days out note, can you imagine the the east coast media firestorm that would result from this GFS run?

*****DISCLAIMER: This is 16 days away and utterly useless so no one should give it a second thought*****

Shear is forecast to lessen today and there was extra sampling done last night that should be in the 12z models. That should further improve the shear forecast. 99L may already be feeling the changes:

If it is ever going to do something, the next few days will be its best bet. Dry air to the west and southwest seems to be clearing out. Shear appears to be laying down where it is headed and sea surface temps are going to be high as long as it is over water.

What a fricking POS. That being said, I'm done with this. Didn't realize I'd piss so many people off. My apologies

It seems as if Your insinuating that people care more about their vacation than what has happend or what could be coming. People need to adjust plans whether there was devastation last week or not. It doesn't mean they are a POS.

Looks like you can still see a little spin in that last flair up of convection at the end of the gif

I am thinking this as well. This weekend (esp tonight/tomorrow) will tell the tale of this thing.

I think anyone claiming it is dead would be wrong - it clearly has and is regaining convection today.
