You can be both worried about the effect on the state, as well as express concern for your plans. No need for a holier than thou attitude, the two are not mutually exclusive guys.
Thank you.

Sorry, but I'm a little sensitive still from the last 2 weeks. I was fortunate not to flood, but I know many people, including relatives and close friends, who lost everything. I guess vacation is that last thing on my mind. For those not affected by the floods I can understand where they're coming from
You're the only one, right?
I spent all last week bouncing between aunts and friends houses pulling sheetrock and cabinets. 3 of those friends are leaving together Thursday to head up and catch the Cubs then to Lambeau for the game.

Live in New Orleans and virtually all my family/friends are in Baton Rouge. I still have the mental capacity to think about the effect a storm may have on a flight I have. I'm also heartbroken for my people.

First of all, the whole "a lot of SELA lost everything" comment is a bit dramatic. It wasn't Katrina. Most people were able to save a ton of shite.
Uh, yea dude, tell that to people in watson, denham, parts of BR, etc.
Just spent all week down there doing recovery work for shell. It's fricking brutal

I didn't flood either. But I spent the end of last week and weekend gutting houses of strangers. Then I took off work Monday and helped gut the house of my best friend and now he's staying with me.
And we are both headed to Lambeau next week and we are both worried about our damn vacation.

Hence why I said "most people" meaning some people were 100% wrecked. My aunt lives in Watson. I spent 3 days up there last week. Place looks like a bomb went off so I'm fully aware.

hey fellas. been following the thread the last few days. good stuff, keep it up.
also, i notice every once in a while there's a forecast image of a disturbance right off the coast of Texas. Any solid chance of development there or just a forecast because it's August in the Gulf of Mexico?
No, this is not a question regarding an upcoming vacation. who would vacation in Texas? :yak:

NHC says 10% chance of development over the next 48 hours as it moves into Texas near Galveston.
