Has anyone mentioned the Wild Bar on Bourbon yet? That was the first French Quarter bar I ever snuck into

Anyone hit up Live Bait when in was happening?

Refresh my memory on Live Bait...
I hit the others religiously, especially when I worked at the Fair, but drawing a blank on Live Bait. I know I should remember it, but I guess those braincells were killed off long ago.

Being wired Sunday mornings was the weirdest thing for me. Wasn’t often, probably a handful of times, but it always struck me. The feeling, all the good people of the world going to church and whatnot and we’re in hour 12+ of our party with several to go. And the feeling of odd abandon at making those times be so crazy. Wow.

I remember stumbling out many of the aforementioned fine establishments past sunrise with ears ringing and pupils struggling to process the rising sun, and seeing people waiting in line to get IN!

I still have a few mix cassettes from DJ Jo Edd of WW3/Aliens/Twitch fame laying around somewhere!

I think you left out the Metro a block up Broadway from the Boot.

It’s pretty depressing that the New Orleans bar scene at present really sucks compared to the era described in this thread. I wish we could have one night a quarter where everything reverted back to this.

This thread brought back many foggy memories...

Nick's Bar on Tulane and in Metry. Shout out to Ronnie, Edgar, Koochie and the gang. I still get flashbacks when I hear the Gilligan's Island theme.

Saturday nights in the early 90's would start with darts tournaments at Buffa's, then a run though the Quarter and places like The Abbey, Molly's at the Market and pre dawn grab your ankles crawls at Checkpoint Charlie.

Also did Quarter crawls that started at Tropical Isle and ultimately found its way to The Dungeon.

If you were in Lakeview the next morning hurting from the night before, Homedale Inn was a great spot for a Bloody Mary pick me up. Especially when they were made by the late, great LSU fan legend Jeremiah Hynes. (RIP to him and Miss Margie.)

My favorite late night eats were The Beachcorner by the cemeteries and the long gone Bottom Line in Metry. (Still my favorite late night burgrs.)

Didn’t do much clubbing except for Friday night's Sippin’ into Sunset at the Hilton’s Rainforest on the river. Most of my other nights were spent at the Rendon Inn, the Rivershack shooting the shite with Jimmy and Rona, and in the early 80s at Pat Gillens where Nick made a stiff drink. Miss that place.

SIN Night was a crazy way to start off the week/keep the weekend going.
And I may know exactly what is being referred to at HOB…..

As was mentioned here earlier, in the ‘70s and ‘80s, you went out at night and you were incommunicado unless you physically ran into someone else (friends, etc)

You might purposefully try to run up on somebody if they frequented a place but the pre-cellphone era made every night into a unique jungle expedition.

What I remember I miss. Concerts on the Riverboat President were good: The Fixx and Quarterflash in ‘83 I specifically remember going to.
