GTFO Dave Ramsey, you bankrupt looney tune.

I don’t follow Dave’s principles to the T. However, I did pay attention to the part about not living above my means and saving money from ordinary and extraordinary cash flow so that I don’t have to stress about buying a depreciating asset and negotiate from a position of strength b/c I am able to stroke a check for it.

But, you do you boo.

Honda Odyssey
good suggestion. The OP should save time and get a van.

I know she thinks she doesn't want a van but she does want a Honda Odyssey, she just doesn`t know it, yet!

Has the OP posted his decision? Go test drive the van suggestions as well....

Odyssey/Sienna is the answer. At this price point you can get a new odyssey or sienna and call it a decade. Kia’s revamped 2022 minivan will basically be a Telluride with sliding doors if the OP wants to wait for a third correct answer.

The only draw back to the minivan is if you live in New Orleans, the low clearance can be an issue on terrible and/or flooded streets.

If it were me? I'd get the GX460. With another kid, no need to get something different. It will easily go 200k without major repairs.

And if you want to go lean, get a GX470, 2008/2009 model with under 100k, you'll pay under 20k and get another 150k out of with routine maintenance.

ETA: I own both vehicles with a 2 year old and 3.5 year old, and two dogs, one 75 pounds, the other 50.

We do have a roof rack and trailer hitch storage for road trips.

When it comes to purchasing a vehicle, it makes no difference whether you can pay cash or finance. The dealer/seller gets paid either way.

You’re a self righteous prick to assume people are living above their means because they buy a car for 50k . You follow the principles of a Man with the IQ of a peanut.

Exactly, this isn’t 1980. Sellers don’t discount because you pay cash.

Interest rates are historically low. You’re a fool if you pay cash for a vehicle right now.

Frick the status symbol and get a minivan

Went through 3 minivans when my kids were young. They are the perfect vehicle for young families.

Unless you just have so much money you don't know what to do with it why would you budget so much for a depreciating asset that you admittedly will only have until the next baby comes along?
