Jindal set to veto anything that smells faintly like the taint of a tax increase.

We can talk about what should and should not be done, but most of the suggestions discussed on this board (like closing and merging certain schools) are not politically palatable and therefore outside the realm of reality at the moment.

Whether you think there is too much fat at LSU or not (and I don't think there is), our flagship is looking at a worst case scenario right on its doorstep. We are about to cease to be competitive with other flagships. It's happening.

Thanks for the heads up, I had no idea. I'll make sure to email Jindal this thread. I'm sure we will figure out what to do in here and this crisis will be solved.

Thanks for reminding us that there is no reason to listen to you.

Didn't the president cause a huge scene to get publicity for a small problem and ended up screwing things up worse when funding was pulled based on his dramatic mischaracterization of the situation?

Good. LA politicians need to stop trying to find ways to tax us more and start looking for ways to responsibly spend them money they already have.

The real question is, How does this effect the quarterback position for next season?

Where are you getting this from?

Alexander didn't start making noise until after Jindal proposed his budget, right?

Jindal has been a joke pretty much his entire tenure as governor.

Change the constitution. There needs to be more areas able to be cut other than healthcare and education.

This this this.

There's plenty of money to be had already, they just need to better allocate it and stop misusing it.

Especially in his second term. He can't leave office fast enough.

How so exactly. His accomplishments include: lowering our taxes, great economy, and reducing the size of LA state government.

Are you graduating from LSU?

When you go to apply for a job in 20, 30 years, do you want that "LSU" on your resume to be on the same level as "cracker jack university" or something? Right now, I think a lot of employers look at LSU as a legitimate state school on par with a lot of other flagships. That can perception can change, and I think that hurts the value of all of our LSU degrees.
