Since 1998 minus the 6 years the Camaro wasn't made, stock vs stock, the Camaro has been faster. Ford is in extreme make-up ground mode right now with the GT350 in response to the Z28 and the GT500 in response to the ZL1 and they should be better since Ford has had 3 years to look at the ZL1 and 2 years to look at the Z28. Chevrolet hasn't said anything yet about their HiPo models of this new gen yet, but they will surpass the GT350 and GT500 and then the circle will start over again. In the end it is the drivers that win!!!

I like Mustangs, just not this new body style. To me the new Mustang looks like the bastard child of a Ford Fusion (front end) and a wannabe GTR (the rear end).

IMO, Camaro > Mustang. Therefore I'd probably wait for the new models to come out like you said. Have you looked at the new Challengers too? Those are pretty damn nice in their own right. The body on the new mustang is the shite though, so you can't go wrong with either.

IIRC, the GT500, in its current supercharged format, has been around longer than the ZL1. The ZL1 was the answer to the GT500, and the Hellcat was the middle finger to both of them.

Regarding the OP, I'd go Mustang for sure. I've never particularly cared for this gen Camaro or the 2016 redesign either.

That guy's entire post was pretty much crap Dude is clearly a Chevy fan boy that knows nothing of Ford's offerings over the years. Guess he missed the Boss 302.

I like that manufactures will sell you a straight-up track car:

I'm sure Ford has something similar.

I know Porsche will do the same, but not for $70K.

Ford has a few options through FRPP competition vehicles

As far as street legal "track cars" like the Z28, the GT350R should handle that role quite nicely.

We continue to be amazed that, in this heavily regulated era, major automakers can keep cranking out these sorts of bonkers track machines. The fact that Ford can take a vehicle as extreme as the Shelby GT350 Mustang and make it even more insane, and then sell it in showrooms next to Fiestas and Fusions, points to a bright and glorious future for all of us. And speaking of showrooms, Ford says the limited-production GT350R will arrive in one near you later this year. Get in line now.

shite, I forgot about that one too

Used to be a navy blue one with 20,000ish miles at my local Toyota dealership. Think they were asking between 28,000 and 32,000...could be wrong on that bc it sounds low lol.

ETA: Did yall see the video of the GT350 launching up the hill at Goodwood??
