A former victim of child sex abuse has ended her life under Dutch euthanasia laws because she could not live with her mental suffering.

The woman, in her twenties, was given a lethal injection after doctors and psychiatrists decided that her post-traumatic stress disorder and other conditions were incurable.

It went ahead despite improvements in the woman's psychological condition after 'intensive therapy' two years ago, and even though doctors in the Netherlands accept that a demand for death from a psychiatric patient may be no more than a cry for help.

Hey man... if an 11 year old can decide to take testosterone to become more boy-ish then why shouldn't nutcases be allowed to legally kill themselves?

frick it... just let everybody do whatever the frick they wanna do.

Seems like shitty doctors & psychiatrists that didn't put full effort into her. Very sad, & I'm not her but there is hope.

Only a matter of time before progressives start pushing it here.

I have no problem with this.

In her decision, was anybody harmed? If people chose not to continue life, why not let them be?

Messed up in the fact about the sex abuse, and I'm hoping the guy is in prison, but if she wanted to end her life, that is on her.

wow, that's a bit harsh.

I think these people must publicly site why they want to die, and give people around or even strangers a chance to convince them otherwise.

A guy who was abused could have spoken up and said, I too went through that type of shite and might be able to understand you. Some Millionaire could have swooped in, hey babe I'm 85, if you're game, I'm game.

If no one speaks up, or the offers aren't worthy...then you could say, "I'd rather die than touch your wrinkled skin"..and it will be done.

Tragic, but she made her choice. Loved ones probably even had an opportunity to prepare.

I have no problem with it. Better than a lonely suicide via gun, rope, bridge, etc...

This is mislabeling at it's finest.

It makes sense. Maybe not to you, but to her.
And it was her life. Not yours.

Should have given her shrooms and LSD.

I certainly wouldn't be the one to give her the injection.

And I would be willing to perform the task for death row inmates.

I'm sure that kind of treatment would have made everything way better for her, lol.

Humans are biologically engrained with a self-preservation instinct. It is morally reprehensible to create legislation deterring life as the greatest thing one can experience in their existence. For doctors to go on record and say, "There is no hope," is frightening and repulsive.

Maybe they tried all they could, could not convince her otherwise, and said okay, do what you want.
