Kid's car will also be used by me on occasion, possibly an occasional track day, so it needs to be sporty and fast (I will use a GPS monitoring system to keep the kid in check, but he's also as trustworthy a kid you'll ever find). Kid will be 16 at the time I purchase.

Its a tricky situation, could be a burden as well. The one good thing about the mustang is you cant pack a shite ton of kids in there. I like the idea of kids only being able to fit 2 or 3 total in the car.


A 2 door hot rod truck might be a good idea as well(if you need the fast aspect) at least you get a big body vehicle for safety

Anyone not interested in $50k American - can send their surplus cash to me.

Cars, almost without exception, are wealth sinkholes. Purchasing cars that are "sporty" or "fun" may be appropriate at various times of life and under certain circumstances (like a sporty car on the California coast, or a fun car in Hawaii) - but the man needs basic transportation. Basic reliable transportation - a woman is driving 1 vehicle and a kid the other.

If you can't get into all the trouble you want in a Toyota Camry or a Toyota Tacoma, you're not trying hard enough or have an underdeveloped sense of imagination and adventure.

(And are a classic example of "a fool and his money are soon parted.")

My kid has worked his arse off, in school and out. He has over a 4.4 GPA with 4 honors classes in his first year of high school, and he tests in the 98-99th percentile. He has also transformed himself from a chubby little bookworm into one of the top martial artists in the country in his age group. He was making $300/day teaching seminars and $50/hr. for private lessons at age 14 because he put in the work to reach that point. He wants to study Mechanical Engineering at LSU. I'm teaching my kid that busting your arse in everything you do is the path to success and you get rewarded for it.
