according to the chart values, we would have to give Cooks and our 1st,2nd,3rd to move up that far. definitely not worth it.

The only way that you trade to get to Number 1 is if you are going to take a QB.

Say last year.

If Brees had one year left and we needed to get to 1 or 2 to get Wentz then I would have traded the 11th pick, Cooks and a 3rd to get him.

Not for an edge rusher.

Hell no. Dude is all pass rush. He hasn't proven he could hold up in a physical grind out run game. He disappears.

Cleveland trading for Brandin Cooks is kind of like buying $6000 rims for a car you don't have

Misconception. You aren't giving up a first, you're trading 1sts and giving up a 3rd and cooks.

Yes

The biggest knock on Garrett is his run defense, which is commonly thought of as only above average. This is even debatable. PFF scored him as the 3rd best edge defender against the run. Here's the link to PFF's write-up: LINK /. Seems to me analysts talk up his run defense as a weakness just to put something down.

If you want consistent production in college, there's no one better than Garrett (outside maybe Barnett). If you want an athletic freak with potential, there's no one better than Garrett. He killed it on every combine measurable - size, speed, strength, and explosion. He seems to have good character and no injury history. As far as edge draft prospects go, this guy may be the surest thing since Von Miller (I'm referring to Von Miller the draft prospect, not as the godlike player he turned out to be).

I hate trading up, especially when the Saints are deprived of talent at so many defensive positions. However, this guy has a good shot to be a transcendent player at the most important position on defense. I'd be very ok with the Saints going all in on Myles Garrett.
