Just for fun, let's say that Cleveland wants our 1st, 3rd and Brandin Cooks for 1st overall, would you do it?

We are a pass rusher away from being a contender, I'll do it

Or to look at this another way. Trading Derrick Barnett, Kendall Beckwith, and Brandin Cooks for Myles Garrett
Doesn't sound so smart now huh

That's the risk you take for top talent. Cleveland also needs a reason to drop down when they're already picking 12th. You may not like the trade but there's no getting 1st overall without giving our first.

And the saints have too many needs to be trading away picks, so no I don't think it would be smart. Tarzan combine numbers don't always equal monster production. Mario Williams and Jadeveon Clowney were/are both good pros, but JJ Watt when in the middle of the first. I don't think Garret has enough "can't miss" to justify trading up. You never know with linemen how they'll translate and it's a deep edge class.
I think Garrett will be a great pro, but I think there are several edge guys that could be great pros that won't require trading away an early pick and a 23 year old first round receiver

Absolutely.
Zero chance #1 gets dealt without a 1st rd pick involved.
From the sound of it, this won't even matter, Cleveland appears to be ready to draft Garrett #1 overall.
