It stinks. I don't see it but CSP does and is not ready to give up on Grayson and sadly Grayson is not ready to be a back up to Brees.

Too early to tell. If you were expecting Grayson to be pro ready by year two than that's your fault for placing those expectations on him

Why did Loomis force Grayson on CSP?

It boggles the mind.

I don't get why we keep McCown. Grayson, head coach, offensive coordinator, and qb coach aren't enough sideline eyes for brees or something?

I think that Carolina game last year is still carrying McCown as the Saints think he might be serviceable in a pinch.

This preseason I did not see any difference between him and Grayson but the oline for them was terrible and they ran around trying not to get killed.

No, which makes it a waste of a position. How many times do you have two quarterbacks taken out in a game? And if that were to happen do you really think a third string QB is going to rally your team for a win? At the point your backup goes down you can chalk the game up as a loss. Regroup during the week and sign a veteran, or two if needed, and move forward. At that point your third QB, who should only be on your practice squad at this point, moves up if needed. But stop wasting a roster spot that is just going to be inactive on a third string QB prospect.

With that O Line I'm surprised we didn't keep 7 QBs.

Why does that matter? You're going to have 7 inactives every game. Who cares if it's a 3rd QB or a 5th DE?

If there was clearly someone better than Grayson or McCown that we cut maybe I would care, but we had a bunch of shite at the bottom this year. No one I was sorry to see go aside from Tapp, but he is likely coming back post week one.

3 years minimum. I'd give him at least this year and next before we cut ties.

I dont believe he's our guy. But if you are going to draft a guy like that to develop you can at least give him the same amount of time we gave Chase Daniel

Daniel had worked his way to backup by his 2nd year with the team. Grayson hasn't.

It matters because we need more linemen. QB and RB are taking away 2 roster spits.

Because McCown is just good enough to not tank games if brees goes down for a few.

If Grayson were the backup and needed to play for a 3-4 games, there's a good chance that he'd actively lose games because of mistakes.

The question is not why keep McCown, it's why keep Grayson on the active roster

We literally just cut a guy. Roster space is a non issue.

Taking away roster spots from other guys that will be inactive.

Yes we need at least one more lineman, but no one we had will be better than any of the QBs or HBs we kept so why keep them just to keep them?

We also had 5 DTs and 5 DEs. We cut a DT to possibly make room for another lineman.

So are you saying you would prefer an inactive Mabry over an inactive Grayson?

Because in the end both are still inactive. It REALLY does not matter unless it cost us someone better (which it did not this year). How many games do you think Mabry would have been active for?

Because they are trying to develop him and still believe in him and don't want to risk losing him by trying to stash him on the PS.

But they have more trust in McCown not to make costly mistakes during games if someone needs to replace Brees.

YOU may not want to keep trying to win if Brees goes down, but Payton and all the players still do. They aren't quitting just because one guy goes down no matter who it is.
