-People won't like it, but I think Wilson will end up being our nickelback until Lewis returns. He fricks up a lot, but he also makes plays. He must have at least 5 passes defended this preseason.

-We need to watch cut players for our #5WR. I don't like anyone behind the C-words and Snead. If it's anyone, it probably ends up being Joe Morgan. I'm feeling a lot better about our #3 WR than I did when the season started.

-Griffin is gone. I don't think all of his poor play was his fault, but he's just not standing out.

-Tull looked really good.

-Edebali gets talked up a bit here and in the media, but he looks like just a guy to me.

-Richardson shows flashes. I guess he has our best chance to be our new Tyrunn Walker.

-Peat gets some hate for his performance, but I'm happy with his play. I don't think I've seen him really get beat in terms of skill/strength. All of the pressures that he has allowed have been mental mistakes/picking up the wrong guy (though he had one last week that may not have been his fault). That's to be expected of a rookie. I big time hated on our picking him, but that was due to his not being a starter for at least a year. His play has been fine.

-I think Baptiste could be gone. I don't know that anyone picks him up, so he could be a practice squad option. What a mess. I didn't think that PJ Williams to the IR would be a big deal, but we could use another capable CB right now. When healthy, I think the Lewis + Browner + Breaux + Swann/Wilson group will be good.

I get bringing him along slowly but he hasn't even looked like one of the top 6 CBs. And refuses to wrap up which is fricking simple and it shouldn't take multiple seasons to figure that out. There's no doubt they drilled that into his head after Maxx Williams bounced off him in the 1st preseason game.

One thing to consider when it comes to how many CBs we keep:
Vaccaro has shown flashes at nickel. If Lewis isn't on the PUP, we could have him inactive + Breaux, Browner, Swann, and one more active. KV could then move to the nickel occasionally if injury or rest requires it.

Baptist isn't getting cut with all the injuries right now. Possibly when everyone comes back but we would only have 3 corners that are 100% healthy without him.

And if we're looking for a WR to exclusively block and run go routes, I know someone that's available.

It's amazing how this team can't keep DBs healthy. It's a long ugly history.

I agree with just about everything you said.

I wonder if some of these UDFA lineman are worth a crap or the cupboard is just so bare...

Also, Edebali? Meh. Not impressed. I do like the rookies. Swann, Kikaha, Tulle and Anthony all look good and I think Peat will be fine.

Really nervous about our depth at CB. I think we might be better off with Vaccaro at NB and playing Bush and Phillips at S.

SJB is mutherfuxkin terrible and does not deserve to make the 53. I'd rather a backup lineman play corner.

agree with pretty much everything with the exception of Joe Morgan... he sealed his fate tonight...

as far as Griffin, he better start putting that Tulane education/connections to good use.... he ain't an NFL QB...

The guy was looking serviceable until tonight, then BAM! Time to change Stanley's bed sheets.

100% positive someone will miss out on a final 53 that's much better than him.

Lewis can't go on PUP. You either start training camp on PUP or never go on it.

So our options with Lewis are to carry an injured player for 4-6 weeks or put him on IR with the designation to return but then he misses 8 weeks.

Honestly with Vaccaro and Phillips I think we may be okay. Plus Swann has looked good at times. All those guys are at least capable nickel guys.

The biggest worry is outside corner. Can't afford an injury there at all.

yeah, that was a moment this offseason that I just sat there and was like... WTF? Probably more than the Jimmy trade... not kidding.

I guess so, nothing stands out good or bad and for a rookie lineman I guess that is okay... for now.

might as well.

What a mess

I mean I'm not going to be all that critical of the guys foir awhile.

I just hope nobody suffers a major injury anymore. You know guys will get dinged up so you have to be realistic but please.. no more ACL's... no more.. sports hernias... meniscus tears... all that dumb shite.

you can say what you want about guys under performing but I just hope we get back to full strength by October... you never know what will happen if we are treading water at that point.

No problem. It does leave us in a shitty situation. You have to have 7 inactive players on game day anyway but we also have Spiller and Browner as question marks, as well a one or two other guys that were making the 53. That means we'd have to stay healthy for a few weeks to have 46 healthy players on game day.
