The down votes on the post reminded me that I should not mention former tigers at the same position drafted 3 picks later. Because LSU. Duly Noted.

Eric Reid was and is a better player. Reid should have been chosen by the Saints.

We draft so well.

I got blasted when I said get Reid or when I argued on draft day. Every expert on here said Reid couldn't cover and I was just a homer.

I'd just like to point out that Eric Reid has a score of +1.1 for the whole season on PFF.

That's about as average as you can get.

If he becomes a pro-bowler, it's because of popularity.

I'm beginning to wonder if Kenny falls under the entitled, spoiled brat category. It seems Mack Brown brought a ton of those types & created an environment that made those attitudes even worse.

Vaccaro was better than Reid last year, so I'm not sure what your point is. He was easily the better prospect coming out and the consensus top safety. He was injured and who knows what happened sense then.

You're also assuming that Reid would have played well in our system.

Vaccaro finished 3rd in ROTY voting despite his injury.

That ain't much worse than getting housed by the Panthers.

im not sold on the fact Vaccaro was better last year. Reid did make the pro bowl. They were both rookie studs last year

AS an alternative. KV goes over him if he wasn't out for the year

Agreed. KV was more versatile though and had a larger responsibility on a defense not filled with studs

Has anyone managed to point out that Reid gets much better coaching than Vaccaro and has a lot more help wrt pass rush, etc. Don't get me wrong, Reid's a stud and Vacarro deserves to be benched, but it's not like they're light years apart talentwise. From what I've been reading it sounds like KV's problem is one of self-discipline, preparation, and professionalism. If he had an ounce of what Vilma had in these departments, he'd be an all-pro.

they hung 43 points on the Saints in the Dome in 2012 and then another 41 Sunday.

that's piss poor.

I think the guys just rallied last year under Ryan and played with a lot to prove because of how bad 2012 was.

I don't ever remember Vaccaro being that good in coverage so far but his tackling has been WAY WORSE this year.

the angles he's taken on some plays this year are so poor. He actually looks worse than Jenkins did and people use to rip on him all the time for that shite.

He wasn't good in coverage, but he flew around the field and made plays everywhere. He was also an outstanding tackler. This season he has been going through the motions. If this lights a fire in these guys, and it should, we'll see improvement. We are all used to seeing Payton not taking shite from his team, this season, the team including Payton has been lethargic. I'm all for this.

So we don't count this year? Isn't staying healthy part of it? Are you saying you'd stick with Kenny V ?

Sorry but it should be common knowledge at this point that Reid has a top notch work ethic. That's gonna win out long term and is a huge reason why he will have greater success

Entirely too early to judge who will have a better career. They were both very good rookies. It's possible that KV gets it together, because he obviously has the potential.
