Really, your thinking on this is that Toon brings more money?
A 4th round pick?
saints philosophy has not been to out players on the field to make money, it is to put the best players on the field.
Otherwise we would have never traded Reggie or gotten rid if Horn or Shockey.
Ingram plays more because of his blocking and ability to pick up the blitz. Ivory struggles at both of these and is not a great receiver.

Review-

Offensive line cohesiveness- the 1's looked pretty good, a clear step down in holes and protection after they left. Didn't watch Tiller or Jones enough to guage. Charles Brown looked good from what I noticed.

Backup QB- Besides the one pick it looked like an A performance from Daniel. Good enough to make ya think we could win some games if he was pressed into action.

WR battles- a no-show battle for AA & Toon. Morgan was clearly the spotlighted guy. He had both bright spots and some not so good plays.

TE- all I saw was that Higgins seems to be the #3 in line, Schouman had a drop.

Pass rush- Tez Wilson looked great in a first game at DE, McBride made some plays, Juneyah still getting better, Tyrunn Walker caught my eye more than any other camp body fighting for a spot

DTs- did anyone notice Bunkley? He must've been out by the time I got around trying to look for him.

LBs- saw some nice flashes from Lofton in his few reps, Hawthorne was very active even though I noted some whiffs by him

DBs- was damned impressed for the two starters out. Out of the gate it looks like Marquis Johnson is the solid #4 after Patrick.

KR- I've been writing off Roby after his NFCCG muff and no-show as a receiver. Then he has maybe his most productive game ever in NOLA as a WR. If proving viable at WR his chances for staying increase significantly. Laron Scott one return scored F and one A.

Offensive rhythm- overall it looked like the powerhouse we have come to know and love. One of the tightest looking first preseason games I've ever seen.

Defensive look- biggest thing I noticed was the DL dropping into coverage when LBs or DBs came on blitzes. Maybe I just noticed him more but saw Tez Wilson falling back to cover more than anyone else. With his LB experience this would seem to make good use of his skills.
