Let's say, for this hypo, that we gave 32 for Butler.

Garrett
Thomas
Barnett
Lattimore
Adams
Hooker
Foster
Allen

Let's say the offensive players that were picked are Fournette and Mike Williams.

All go in the top 10 in a worst case scenario.

Who are you taking? Best defenders are someone like Taco Charlton, Takkarist Mckinley, Haason Reddick, Marlon Humphrey.

Best offensive players are OJ Howard, Deshaun Watson, Mitch Trubisky, Christian Mccaffrey, etc.

What do you do?

In that scenario, I'm going Taco Charlton at 11. I like his play and believe he'd contribute really well and compliment our D-line.

Taco. I like him much more than any DE we could get with pick #42. We pretty much have to take him unless you like a guy like Jordan Willis, Carl Lawson, or Tarell Basham more.

I hoping there is a run of QBs and offensive players in the first 10.

I cant accept that Watson and Trubisky aren't gone but if they are I would be amazed beyond belief

I think with the way you laid it out the only guy still there we were "supposedly" targeting would be taco

Taco, Reddick, or Watson. Not sold on Taco though. It'd be a reach pick imo to fill a need.

Because all 10 teams before us
will go Defense. Just on the slim chance they do then next top DE on the board. People on here get straight stupid before the draft.

Yeah. I'd attempt to trade back a few spots at least though if they are dead set on going DE with that pick.

I'd probably just go Watson though and hope he can be heir apparent.

In that scenario I'd hope someone offers us a trade to fall back a couple spots, so that teams gets ahead of Browns and can grab their pick at QB.......

But if not, Taco or Reddick

If the rumors that we love Taco are to be believed, you have to think this is what they'd do.

Personally with Barnett and Thomas gone I'd consider McCaffrey. First I'd try to trade down, but that doesn't always work out, so yeah. McCaffrey in this offense would be insane.

I'm hoping teams get a little scared off by Takk McKinley having shoulder surgery right after the combine and being out 5-6 months. I would love for that guy to fall to 32.

As for 11, if that scenario happens, BPA on their board. Offense or defense. Or hope someone calls to trade.

I seriously am trying to trade down and I really do not care about value that much.

You have to look at the board and see who is there, but I would drop from #11-15 or 16 for maybe an extra 3rd this year or next.

You have to think ahead next year 2 #3 picks might get you back in the 2nd round.

Not a knock on McCaffrey but Dalvin Cook is better.

They would sprint to the podium to take Watson in that case IMO.

OJ Howard or Taco. From what I've watched though I don't like taco as much as some of the other edge guys. Ideally you could trade back a little and still get him. OJ Howard seems like jimmy graham who can block.

Agreed. He would be filthy in our offense

But only if the top rush guys are gone

He had a bad combine + some off-field stuff. And I think McCaffrey fits our O better.
