At 20-3 I laid down and took a nap. Turned the tv off completely and didn't even turn the radio on. I have to say I really enjoyed. I have always been a Saints but until they show the really care I am done. frick em, I have better things to do.

Anybody remember a game vs the Vikings in the '90s where Minn scored on every possession except the last, when they ran the clock out? I have a memory of going out to do yard work while that game was on.

i remember a Sunday night game where the Colts just drubbed the Saints on ESPN. I think they scored like 55 points? 2003 I think it was.

that's why I laughed my arse off at Manning while he stood there looking disgusted at the Saints for running up the score on them in that 62-7 game in 2011.

there was a another Sunday night game in the Haslett era where the Redskins (I think) just blew the Saints out late in the year. I remember turning off that game fairly early in the game.

I always thought growing up that I would never see the Saints win a Super Bowl. My first year as a fan was when I was 9 back in 1980 and they went 1-15. I figured that if I saw them win the big one once, then I was good for life. It has turned out to be true. I still root for them and all, but everything they do for the rest of my life is lagniappe for me. Losses don't bother me like they used to.

I'm to the point where I feel deflated as a fan. I honestly don't even want to watch anymore because it seems like such a waste of time and I only get aggravated.

This is how it starts.

You become apathetic.

The Braves Stink....I don't watch any baseball.
Auburn Basketball stinks...I don't watch hardly any regular season basketball.
Auburn football stinks....I watch very little.
I watched the Saints today and afterward I could have cared less about the other games. Didn't watch a second of Atlanta/Green Bay tonight.

i watched the whole game today and found myself still yelling at the TV about shite I didn't agree with and all. But as soon as the game was over, I turned off the tube and actually didn't watch any other games today. I checked my phone for scores and checked my FFootball teams scores but that was it.

that's what it has come to for me. I went to see South Alabama play yesterday cause I have season tickets and all but hardly watched any other college games. Its not that I'm not interested.. it just didn't cross my mind to.

I recorded it and fast forwarded through the whole thing after the Pats first TD. I won't watch them live anymore.

Personally, I just watch and laugh. There's enough stress in everyday life to let football make it worse. The times of being really mad about them losing are gone. I still pull for them every week though and hope for them to improve.

Just about perfectly sums me up except that I don't sit glued to the game. It may or may not even be on, truth be told. Too many other fun things to do. It's just a freaking game you have zero control over anyway.

21-0 made me just not give a shite about football like I used to. The Saints got lumped into it.

Too much important shite in life to beat myself up over football games

the RED ZONE has saved me as an nfl fan......i watch GOOD FOOTBALL, teams that CARE and have TALENT....im not emotionally involved, but its great to see HUNGRY, TALENTED, MOTIVATED teams going at it for all their worth.....clearly the aints are not in this picture, sadly....but i LOVE to watch GOOD NFL FOOTBALL....RED ZONE......

I follow college football more than NFL these days. College football still has a bit of spectacle to it. That said, I just don't have the rabid interest in either that I once did. Part of it is getting older, another is that the games (especially NFL) have become glorified flag football these days.

That said, just when I think that I'm really ready to pull away, we get a game like USC - Texas and I realize that there's still a reason to watch sometimes.

I didn't watch any Saints or LSU game yet. My father who was also my best friend passed away a couple months ago.We watched all the games together. I can't bring my self to watch without him.I come on TD and read the game threads for a little while. What a depressing football season.

Really curious what the age is of everyone in this thread.

I'm 39 and this apathy started about three years ago. I still get excited in preseason but it quickly wears off.

I hate to say it, but I'm a total bandwagon fan. I watch if they're good and turn it off when they suck. The exact opposite of how I was as a kid, teen, young adult.

I'm also much more negative and cynical regarding the team. Is that realism? Are kids just delusionally optimistic?

I'm the same way my dad was. He was negative about the Saints when I was a kid.

Or is it a sign of the times. Someone mentioned fast forwarding if they're not doing well. I do the same shite sometimes. I'll DVR and if they'er losing just fast forward until something good happens.

I also have zero desire to watch other NFL games anymore. I think that's more about the quality of play, Goodell, rule changes, etc.

I also quit fantasy football. It wasn't fun anymore - this had nothing to do with losing. I actually was pretty good, just didn't give a frick and a couple hundred dollar prize was insignificant and didn't keep me engaged. I'd forget to do my lineup some weeks.

I think I'm just getting old, haha.

Yep, Pro players should be held to a higher standard. I don't get mad with college players, just the refs and coaches .42 yrs old and been watching less pro all together since 2012. The fact is the Saints don't have a good product.

To be honest, I'm kinda shocked both the Superdome and Death Valley seem to be packed at the start of every game. I know a lot of people who have stopped going to both because they know the teams will be bad. I guess in LSU's case it's a little different though because winning or losing the stadium will be empty by the third. I kinda wish people would stop buying tickets to both teams so they will be forced to clean house. Both admins are fricking awful and definitely a big source to all the problems to both teams.

I mean hell, I love both teams too and want to see them succeed. Why would I want to watch shite teams all the time? You can't expect me to support that considering the only way a change is going to happen is if that revenue takes a dip. The only support either team is going to get from me right now is TV ratings because they're not entertaining at all to watch. It would be entertainment if I wasn't a Saints/LSU fan seeing both teams melt. Call me a fairweather/bandwagon fan or whatever but I'm not going through that misery. It's too painful to watch at the stadiums.

Maybe it was the frickery that was LSU the night before or the bullshite i was on monday but my soul needed this win. When our offense didn't score on that first drive I said we're fricked. And thats what happened. I was at TJ Ribs so I just started watching the Colts-Cards on another tv.

Same, I could only catch highlights of last Monday as I had something going on. Glad I missed it.

I turned on the TV after lunch yesterday and saw 20-3, then turned it back off.

Cant remember the last time I havent watched the first two games to start a season, if ever.
