I can't stand all these Yat-ish women in their mid 40's waddling through Winn Dixie with their hideous silk-screened Saints replica jerseys chatting about the "big game" tonight.

I cut grass in my neighborhood when I was 17 to scrounge up enough money to afford my very first Saints season tickets. I was fricking psyched about the Heath Shuler acquisition and the "Iron Era". I remember how Alex Molden dropped a sure-fire pick 6 in the Vikings playoff game in January 2001 that would have tied the game at 17 in the 3rd quarter and given us all the momentum.

I'm tired of people acting like I'm not a "Saints fan" because my involvement with preseason action is to ask somebody at Bruno's "did we have any injuries?" at midnight tonight. We are in the "pink cap" era of Saints fandom. I know how Bill Simmons feels about all the "Red Sox fans" nowadays.

I do have a love/hate relationship with the newer Saints fans. I appreciate the security they give to the franchise but they annoy the shite out of me at the same time.

Just find a "real" fan and give them "the nod." Then go about your business.

Don't let it bother you dude. Those people aren't hurting anything, live and let live and you'll live happier and probably longer.

This I'm a real fan, bandwagon fan talk is fricking stupid.

How old are you and how is it possible that this is a big deal to you?

Get it all out Alejandro. Living in Bama, I completely understand what you're saying. In 2010 I was invited to a Superbowl party here. But I decided to stay home and watch it by myself because of the "pink cap" factor. I just knew that when the Saints were trailing early on some girl at the party would turn to me and say "Why don't the Saints just score a touchdown?" I couldn't handle that so I coached the Saints to victory in isolation. Anyway, I was just as pumped when we got Shuler. As for Molden, I'm 95% sure he was point shaving.

"Why don't the Saints just score a touchdown?" Classic.

Whatever dude, let fans be fans. At least there's a base.

I am in Cowboy country, I'll hug a Saints fan if I see one.

I hate people bitching about bandwagon fans. I'm happy the saints have gotten to the point where we have a bandwagon. If some 40 year old wants to buy a shirt than by all means do it. Keep supporting the city and the team.

These are the same people who used to only knew the names of Aaron Brooks and Jim Haslett pre 2006.
