Now you're overexaggerating. No one said he doesn't deserve a penny over 6.8mil

I was replying to Breesus and he did say that. He has since changed the number to 7 mil/ year. And it was a dollar over, not a penny.

In the past two years have you seen Khiry or Cadet be able to pass protect or catch out of the backfield like PT when giving the chance?

They were given a chance? When?

70 catches a year is a BIG number to fill.

Considering the production from those catches. No it's not that hard to fill. You under value Cadet extremely. You think we've kept him around all this time bc he is a backup kick returner?

quote:

If you said Ingram that'd be more feasible considering the fact that ingram did catch a decent amount in college.

Another reason to cut PT by this logic.

PT did not have a good year. We have 2 good young RBs with Khiry and Cadet who wouldn't cost 1 million put together.

He did lead the Saints in rushing yards and the NFL in receptions.

However, i agree, and have already in this thread agreed, that we have young talent that deserves a shot.

I don't understand some of your logic. Jimmy, who at least led the league in rec TDs, doesn't deserve a dollar over the 6.8 mil tag? But we need to keep paying a 30 yr old PT so we can watch him decline while we have other talent losing playing time?

PT isnt asking for almost double what he is worth. But again, i said in my first post i see why he should be cut and I'd have no problem with it.

As for not understanding my logic you posted this:

quote:

He's 30 yrs old man. It's the smart decision whether we want to see him gone or not.

I said JG is 28, and the smart decision is to not give him 12 million and you called me stupid.

big difference between 28 and 30...big difference between TE and RB.

Wrong. I said you're stupid bc you think Jimmy sucks.

I already told you that he's not worth 12 mil a year. Not even 10 or 9. So stop using that as an argument against everyone. Bc nobody in this thread has said that. Not once. Zero times bro.

Can't we just get along Mouth. So we don't agree with each other. No big deal.

I think he's overrated you think he's the GOAT.

We arent going to convince the other person.

Since when did Cadet get good? he only sees the field on special teams. 1 good young running back and Ingram is more like it.

If they can cut Thomas and bring him back on a much friendlier deal then i'm down. But I think that he and Sproles have lost a step and both should be cut or have their cap figures reduced.

To be fair, Ingram has looked like a good young back as well since he's gotten healthy.

It wasn't meant to disrespect Ingram. It was meant more along the lines of how cheaply we can keep Robinson for now as opposed to Ingram, who could probably get more money due to his flashes last season. Ingram has certainly been on the upswing in his career.

Lester thinks he should be given Sproles job.

Whats wrong with that? He may not have the burst sproles had in his prime, but he catches the ball well out of the backfield and is a very shifty runner. Would be our pass catching back while khiry and ingram do the dirty work and bring in another young back to compliment/groom/play ST.

Because he doesn't possess the skill set to do what Sproles does. He doesn't have that type of acceleration or have his change of direction. The reason Sproles worked so well is that he's a huge mismatched against linebackers.

I actually think he's more similar to Thomas.

I'm looking for the Saints to look for a Sproles replacement in this years draft.

Yea, with more carries than anyone else, I would hope so. He's getting old and was not very good in the back half of the season.
