applies to this season only.

I strongly considered Megatron or Beckham, but need to go with Watt. Cam + Watt on the outside in the 3-4 and one of those two moving inside for 4 man lines is just too amazing a proposition. Better than going with the best players at the biggest need (WR).

going to try and avoid the #1 player at their respective position...

Offense: Dez Bryant, he is arguably the 2nd best WR in the league to Megatron. Mismatch, willing blocker, explosive WR, TD machine, and not a strong injury history unlike some others (i.e. Julio)

Defense: Gerald McCoy, he is what we're missing on our line to be absolutely dominant.

Why would you want Aldon Smith if you could have Watt? Smith is not that good against the run, and Watt is hands down the best defensive player in the NFL.

Gotta be Watt. And he can play TE.

This. Watt can play multiple positions across any front. Smith is only an outside guy who has issues against the run at times. Plus, who wants to deal with Smith's off the field stuff?

On offense, I like the thought of Gronk. Dude is fearless running seam routes. He would be a perfect fit in Payton's offense & isn't a liability as a blocker. If we were going WR, give me Demaryius Thomas. Similar body type & aggressive mindset as Dez but not as overly demonstrative on the sidelines as Bryant.

Did anyone say JJ Watt yet? That would be my choice. It was my choice last year and the year before too.

Disregarding Watt because he's on another level and should be the answer to this question for fans of any team that already has a QB.

Offensively I think you have to look at a WR or TE.
OBJ is a possibility (his tape is mind-numbingly good).
Gronk as well although I feel like he would be squandered here (his blocking is his best attribute).
Any of the current big-bodied WR1s: Dez, Green, Julio, Demaryius Thomas, these guys would blow it open with Brees throwing to them

Defensively I'd look at a stud linebacker to pair with Anthony in 3-4 looks, or a pass rusher.

Keuchly, Bowman, Mosley. Would be excellent.

Justin Houston, Aldon Smith, Von Miller if I'm looking at pass rushers.

I could also see taking a game-breaking DT. We would look REALLY Fierce up front with Jordan, SUH, Hicks and Gallette. Suh is astounding to watch on tape. He commands consistent double teams and STILL makes plays all the time, collapsing the front of the pocket consistently.

this would be the funnest pick. Cooks, ODB, then Jones and Coleman with a Colston and Josh Morgan there.

Still Megatron if healthy. Still not close image. He would open up everything else so much including our running game. We would have mismatches all over the place. I still think this would help take pressure off our defense more than any one guy would.
