Doesn't really make sense for the other teams, but will take it.

Wut?

it's rumored up to 10 teams are interested. It makes sense for someone to trade for him to ensure they get him

I don't think we are getting a player back in any trade. It'll likely be a draft pick, as it is cheaper now and in the next couple of years

It makes sense to me given the "heavy interest".

Trade and get Sproles for 3.5 mil for next year.

Let the Saints release Sproles and you compete with X amount of teams to sign him at Y dollars.

Yeah I suppose. Just figured he would get less money but I may be undervaluing him.

Of he really has up to 10 teams interested, maybe we'll be able to drive that price up....somewhat

If Blaine Gabbert just got a 6th rounder, Sproles should be worth a 2nd easily.

The fact that his deal only has a year left on it caps the value IMO.

Some info..

quote:

@RapSheet: Talked Darren Sproles on @nflnetwork. He’s received interest from more than 10 teams. Saints hadn’t released him yet, hoping to trade

quote:

@MikeTriplett: All #Saints Sproles has left on his deal is one year, $3.5 million. Very friendly deal for team that acquires him.

This one is (obviously) speculation so take it with a grain of salt, but Rapoport is a smart guy.

quote:

@RapSheet: Easy to see a team like the #Eagles liking Darren Sproles and making a trade. GM Howie Roseman loves trades. Chip Kelly loves fun players

Would immediately be their best safety.

If he was still under contract, then how did he recieve interest from other teams? Isnt that tampering?

I'm sure the Saints gave the go ahead. Along with Sproles agent to explore options.
