How is that better than being released? You don't even get to pick where you go. Imagine you, growing up in (I assume) Louisiana, and then suddenly your boss forces you to move to fricking Green Bay or something to work. How would you feel about that?

I'd rather be a free agent. Especially if he has 10 suitors, those are good odds.

Lol, I would trade him to the Jets to get Ivory back!! Not sure how Mark Ingram will fare next season, but the tandem of Ivory and Robinson would be awesome

Sounds like they haven't told him anything. Just shitty to let the guy find out from twitter

I'd imagine at least his agent told him this was a possibility after not actually being cut all through the weekend and Monday.

Did Sproles really not know this was gonna happen?

I'm assuming that he thought he was going to be released. I'm assuming the trade part is what the surprise is.

he did his farewell tweets on March 7. So he has to have known by now that since he hasnt been released, that they are tying to deal him.

I just have a hard time believing he thought we were just gonna release him without looking for trades.

Yeah he knew his time was up here regardless. I imagine he was likely told that they may trade him, but never got back to him to tell him he was being traded for sure.

I think we get a 6 but I hope Loomis works it into a 5th. If Loomis steals a 4th from someone, he is stealing picks from the weak. I'm good with that too!

If we got a 4th for Ivory we can get that for Sproles

Different circumstances lead me to disagree...

Last year's draft was nowhere NEAR as deep as this years. Deeper draft = picks are more valuable.

Plus, Sproles is older (OLD for a RB, tread or not) and only has a year left on his contract.

We should be happy with a 6th and thrilled with a 5th

How you figure?

Ivory was young, cheap and entering his prime
Sproles is old, overpayed and is on the decline

He's not on the decline. For whatever reason he wasn't used properly last year. He regressed in the return game that's it.
