Dez will be climbing the ladder all day. And with no front 7, Romo will have all day to get it to him.

Lots of things cost us TDs.

Not stopping the run cost us a TD in the Super Bowl.

Also for everyone harping on the pass defense, you can stop the pass if you have good pass rushers too.

Maybe when Greer and Porter went out, our other DB's wouldn't have looked so bad, if the front 7 had been better at getting sacks

Yeah but it's becoming apparent in this league that to be successful on defense you need 3-4 quality corners

ok, fine. But was this the best to place to find #3 or #4?

Look at the Jets...they have two PRO BOWL CBs and they drafted one

Completely different situation. A) Their front 7 pretty well stacked B) one of their pro bowl corners is a knuckle head whose previous team let him go for a 3rd rounder.

I don't know why don't you tell me which one of our corners or OLB's is going to cover whitten?

First off, it's fricking Witten. There is not silent H. Second, how many OLBs you think have coverage skills that were left on the board. Please tell me. Washington was an ILB not an OLB. Kindle was seen more of a DE or a 3-4 OLB who primarily rushes the passer and not stop the run.

Like I said before, people bitched for years and years about stopping the pass. For god sakes we still sucked at it last year. We just had turnovers. Finally doing something about it. Loomis and company obviously feel they can patchwork with what they got or will address LBs and DTs in the coming rounds.

Say they drafted Brian Price and he started...first game Minnesota and BF throws for 320 yards you'll be saying we should have drafted a corner.

For some of you people it's always a lose-lose situation.

I don't give a frick.

washington

In college, every single projection had him as an OLB, and a decent one in pass coverage

quote:

Fluid in space. Can be too upright when dropping into zone coverage. Nice sideline-to-sideline range. Able to identify and stay with receivers in his zone and run with any tight end down the seam. Closes on the ball in the air. Keeps an eye on the receiver and one on the quarterback; will come off his guy to make a play. Tough for quarterbacks to throw over and Washington -- and in front of safeties. Struggles to intercept passes, even when he jumps the pattern and the ball is thrown into his hands.

quote:

Shows good awareness and does a nice job of locating crossers when asked to drop into zone coverage. Fluid enough to match up with most backs and tight ends in man coverage. Above-average closing speed and he can get to the quarterback when asked to blitz but would like to see more aggression

No we didn't. At all. Greer and Porter gave up one TD all year combined, and that's with GW having to blitz a shitload and leave them in single coverage because our front 4 can't get pressure for shite.

Yes, when Greer and Porter were hurt, we gave up boatloads of yards through the air. But that would have been aided with a pass rush, and when you have major needs at DT and a LB that can rush for shite, you don't pick under the assumption that a starter is definitely getting hurt.

If they LOVE this guy and definitely plan on moving Jenkins to FS, then I can take that. But if his NFL game isn't better than his college game, it was retarded. I just can't believe the Saints don't think pass rush and run stopping are the top priorities.

No no I wouldn't have. We have one of the best CB duos in the league.

If Brett throws for that much he earned it.

Favre threw for a shitload of yards because our front 7 was only getting enough pressure to hit him soon after throwing the ball, not soon enough to actually pressure him into an early throw or, god willing, sack him.

guys i think they wanted hughes. and since they didn't get him they ended up with the bpa which was a corner, which is still a position of need.

they have plenty of time to address the other needs. there are plenty of lbers who are drafted in the 2nd through 4th rounds that contribute every year.

i don't understand the venom here.

I wouldn't be half as upset if people weren't trying to talk themselves into this being some type of genius move.

Lest we forget

Always amazes me that there are still complete fools who want to question what this front office does. We just, JUST, won a Super Bowl. A Super Bowl! Do people not understand that one of the major reasons we won a Super Bowl is because of this FO pulling some of the ballsiest and gutsy moves through the draft and free agency to get us to this point.

Sorry tigerguy, but you can take your big bag of complete and utter fail and carry it to the rant where it belongs.

None of us would be half as upset if you wouldn't talk about the Super Bowl champion staff as if they don't know what they're doing.

This will be good. What were some of these ballsy and gutsy moves the Saints made, and why exactly where they ballsy and gutsy?

besides, I think it's painfully obvious that you don't know what the hell you're talking about. The guy we've picked hasn't played a down for us, yet you're going to slam him before he hits the field. Well done sir, well done.

Tip of the a-hole hat to you.
