Yeah damn debating and discussion. Just keep posting your opinion ripping the pick I'm sure you are right.

My main gripe is every damn year the Saints take BPA and people still don't freaking get it.

frick you mr. no read. I haven't slammed him once. I have said he might be a good CB.

I said we used our 1st rounder on our #3 CB, and that is all.

As for your little link, I want you to tell me what was so ballsy and gutsy about those moves. Yeah they worked out but it's not like Greer wasn't a sought after FA(or our 2nd pick for FA CB but let's not remember that)

Malcom Jenkins? Holy frick we picked a 1st round corner with the 15th pick when we had zero answers at corner? frick ME they went out on a limb there

it's the 32nd pick of the draft.

There would be nothing genius about ANY pick at 32.

i dont think anyone is conveying this as a genius move. But it's not like CB isn't a need.

If the Saints see Robinson as a mid 1st round value, and he drops, they take him. Thats probably what happened.

they can get a good LB or DL in the 2nd round equal to what was available now. It's not that hard to grasp

I just find it completely retarded for ripping a pick nobody else knows how it will turn out. The kid could end up being an All-Pro in 3-4 years. Hell, Darrell Revis people thought was picked too high at 12th. He was slated to be picked in the 20's.

Pretty much. I'm always interested but getting upset over picks is just stupid. Nobody has a freaking idea how good these guys are going to be 3 years. Say we take Washington and everybody is happy because we took a LB. Great maybe he won't be in the NFL by the end of his contract. Too much unknown to get upset over this crap.

Of course you don't understand that. You are posting YOUR opinion. Debate and discussion requires a counter-opinion which you pretty much said you have no interest in reading.

I'm not saying it is genius move or you have to agree with it. Just it isn't as dumb or illogical as you think.

I think Derrick Johnson was the better player available instead of Brown at the time.

According to who? The Saints didn't say that. And that was under Haslett.

Not that defending the run isn't important, but with the type of offense we have leading to teams often either playing catch up or trying to keep up, strengthening our secondary can never be a bad thing.

so no such thing as a bad pick for anyone?

We should all go back and edit our posts making fun of the Jags and Broncos?

frick I hope he is. I've got no clue on his playing ability. I simply said used our first round pick on a #3 CB and everyone flipped the frick out for saying that.

A) they probably had a need at corner
B) he was selected at 14 not 12
C) this isn't ripping the player

I'm simply saying I would have preferred another direction position wise.

As a member of this board who saw plenty of threads constantly saying we should go defensive front 7, I think that was pretty much the thinking
of the majority of the posters here.

Difference is I'm not going to pretend like I thought corner was an area of need that needed to be addressed in the 1st round

Today? Not really. It is fun for entertainment but yeah who the hell knows? You know the whole can't judge a draft until 3 to 4 years thing.

LOL, you poor fool. You still don't get it.

You totally passed over it, you still can't read. You also still don't understand the point of the draft for this team. They consistently approach the draft the same every year, yet you're just SHOCKED with this pick.

You might want to become a "fan" of the team first there big man.

Won't argue that, congrats fine. Patrick Robinson was rated higher than Jimmy clausen. Good for him

Apparently that's when your frustration settled in. I appreciated the first "I'm not saying it's a good or a bad thing", but then follow it up with "depth at 3" comment....it's just a walking fallacy, but that's ok, keep it up.

This will be one those threads that gets linked back to at the end of the year for better or for worse.

In any case, thank God none of us are running the team we love most...because this stupid back and forth crap about picking depth up in the draft is fricking depressing.
