They had to "set a precedent" to the rest of the league that if you seem like your cheating or actually cheat, this is whats gonna happen. I think they used us as the scapegoat and realized a year or two later (behind closed doors of course) that they fudged up bad. This was made very clear after the deflategate situation. Say what you want about it, Pats got off easy for that. Brady should've been suspended ATLEAST 8 games and the Pats should've lost more picks. But the NFL doesn't want to mess up again like they did with us so they basically pat teams on the back now.

Except that they didn't set that precedent and it had absolutely nothing to do with cheating. It was all about being tough in concussions because of the lawsuit

I agree with you about the lawsuit part. But think back to that time too. The NFL knew there were teams that were doing bounty systems and gave each warning but none of them were probably listening. So they decided to lay the hammer on the Saints out of all the teams that did a bounty system to let the rest know what would happen if they didn't stop. I believe they chose the Saints because of Gregg Williams. The league prolly caught Williams running similar systems in his other stops along the way to NOLA.

No we had a whistleblower/pissed off former employee(Mike Cerullo) that audio recorded the "evidence" and was willing to use it against us to help the league paint a narrative.

Goodell exploited the rare situation for his own personal gain.

Frick everything about BountyGate.

I personally want to seek out this fat frick and assault him with a baseball bat in a dark alley as his fat arse leaves a bar somewhere.

work phone number is 609-258-3515

fictional bounty system didn't seem like cheating to me either.

It's not, but others around the country seem to think it is. But, you don't need actual prove these days...

Wrong. Williams was long regarded as one of the "good ole boys" in the NFL coaching fraternity.

This was ALL about Sean Payton. He pissed Goodell off by blowing him off and bending the rules during Super Bowl Week and bragging about it in his book. He also wanted to punish him for the Vicodin situation and for his relationship with Mike Ornstein.

And Williams was the guy who "confessed" because, like I said, he's one of the boys and Goodell held the indefinite suspension over his head. Confess or be banned for life. Nice justice.

So wait, you're pissed the NFL racked you over the coals for nothing and then bitch the Pats got off easy when literally MIT physics professors are saying the NFL was wrong?

Hypocrite.

I mean where's MIT again? there's some bias right?

I still think the penalty for that deflategate bs is ridiculous and his continued attempt at getting Brady for two seasons show you what kind of person Goodell really is.

Saints got the ban hammer and sean's continued walking along the line seems to bite the Saints' arse a whole lot more than help (i.e. Oakland, NYG, Denver, and TB games the refs were fricking horrid against us)

CSP, Mickey Loomis, and any player or staff member from Bountygate have been made ineffective by the league no matter their skill or ability. They are the face of one of Roger Goodell's high profile legacy triumphs or failures.

Roger Goodell being a vindictive individual will never allow Sean Payton to be successful despite Paul Tagliabue's findings.

The league has made it clear that they want CSP and all his friends to disappear.

If you stop and think about it, the Bountygate Lawsuit Concussion Contrivance is both diabolical and insidious in its inception and continuing execution, directed squarely, at the Saints organization.

And yes, you have correctly pointed out that the officiating in the Oakland, NYG, Denver, and TB games were horrid. I will take it one step further. It was purposeful. The Saints very easily should have 9 wins with 2 games left to play.

The problem is the NFL system cuts you off with 15 seconds left on playclock. WalkieTalkies set up by coaching staff do not cut off. They said "they still observed the rules" but wtf does that mean? You think they cut off communication to the millisecond each time the clock clicked to 15 seconds as it would normally....I don't, but I can guarantee dallas did in every other game they played in the season because they had no choice (I.E. COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE). Not to mention that is only if they are being honest. A couple of seconds could make a massive deal.

Also the 2 stories I read just say they had trouble getting play through but didnt give any reasons. Was it crowd noise???? Did they have a louder speaker???

This may not seem like a bigdeal but I would say this is a much bigger deal than a couple psi in a football like deflate gate.
