So now teams get their picks "downgraded" when they are cold busted for cheating

What the Hell kind of bullshite is that? The Giants have like the 6th best record in the NFL. How far of a drop is that? And there's a provision that it can't drop more than 12 picks? Really? That'll show them!
And yes, you know what I'm referencing. And no, I will never get over it.
They are so clearly making this shite up as they go along.
I mean. frick--give me the walkie talkies if it means that my draft pick drops from #126 to #135!

When Breesus comments on Goodell, I concur.

We were screwed in 2011. We got the NFL death penalty. I think behind closed doors even the NFL realized this.

And then Goodell had a chance to slightly make good by letting them have the second second round pick back, and he smugly told the team "frick you again" the week of the city's Super Bowl.
frick Roger Goodell. They knew they fricked us and he STILL doubled down on it anyway out of spite.

Giants hit with NFL sanctions for cheating with walkie talkie
The word "hit" should be in quotation marks in the headline.
Patriots fans are losing their shite too.

So their 4th round pick was "penalized" to the last pick of the 4th round.
What a crock.
If they make the playoffs, which they probably will, and win a game. What happens, they move from the 30th pick to the 32nd. What a freakin joke.

I mean it doesn't seem like the biggest deal in the world. Not much of a "cheating." Then again the deflated balls and fictional bounty system didn't seem like cheating to me either.

Why are you comparing our incident to theirs?
We gained no competitive advantage on the field by what we did. They did what they did purely for competitive advantage.
Makes a lot of sense right?
I always wonder what it would have been like if a younger tom benson was owner when the nfl pulled that shite. Could you imagine them trying that on the cowboys, pats, redskins, giants (obviously they cant)? It's kind of hard to wrap your head around logically how much they punished us for what we did.

From what I see from the "evidence," we lost a coach, a GM, players, and two high draft picks because of a legal hit on Kurt Warner, a questionable high-low on Brett Favre, and an ill-advised but completely legal "hit people where they're injured" locker room speech.

One could argue that allegedly trying to take out another team's best player could be a competitive advantage......
Not this guy though

And fwiw, I think the punishment fits this crime... I can understand why it would upset people, but I'm not too pissed about it
Maybe they should have lost their fourth round pick all together, but that's about the only gripe I have

It is all bull shite manufactured because Goodell and the NFL needed a scapegoat to make it seem like they are tough on player safety.
I remember growing up announcers talking about stuff like this like it was nothing. Like it would be in the injury report that a player had an injured ankle, and the announcers would joke about the opponents targeting it for a competitive advantage. Or players saying openly that they would wrap both ankles because they didn't want the opponents to know which one was hurt.
Then suddenly after the bounty shite all of this stuff that had been the status quo for decades became an unspeakable offense. It's like people don't remember that the NFL revelled in being a brutal game. It was everyone doing it, but they decided to make an example of us.
I understand that maybe a change needs to be made in regards to safety, but this has never been about that. Goodell and the NFL don't give a God damn about safety. This is only about covering their arse and the bottom line. They are totally devoid of anything resembling integrity.

If only there was any evidence that this ever happened. There isn't. Trying to make big plays isn't trying to injure anyone.

Patriots and Giants were actually caught cheating actively participating in a scheme which gave them proven competitive advantage over other teams detrimental to the core of the game of football and all they got was a glorifies slap on the wrist. Video taping opponents practices, deflating balls, piping in crowd noise, illegal communication, etc... Are all active things that give you an advantage.
And none of them got penalized at all when compared to the saints. A small player suspension or a small draft pick in a lesser round moved back.
The Saints did literally nothing wrong and lost their entire front office, half the team, the coaching staff, a full season of football, the best DC we had, the end of our small golden years, the death of a possible dynasty, and an entire draft and a half which set the franchise back multiple years with massive depth problems because the players and coaches did what every other team in the league does, they motivated themselves to play well.
There is no evidence the Saints did anything wrong. We had less personal fouls and injuries than half the league when 3GW was here. And we didn't do anything differently than colleges who hand out helmet stickers.
Meanwhile, people like suh stomp on people's heads, and get a fine for $100,000 for actually trying to injure people.
I will never forgive the NFL or Goodell for what they did to this franchise and I look forward to going and taking a steaming shite on Goodell's grave when he's dead.
I might move to that town, get a few dogs, and walk them over there every day to shite.

You mean what every single defensive player does every single time they get the chance at a big hit since the beginning of the history of contact sports?
