Honestly, this scenario is worse than not getting invited.

another meaningless stat added to his stats

one more pro bowl check in that category on the stat sheet, plus they only play touch football and a volleyball game now so why not go, its just a dog and pony show anyway and everyone sees it as a farse

I hope he doesn't accept. Wasn't good enough earlier with 5000 yds, shouldn't matter now.

See the thing about that is he had a damn good season and was screwed out of not being on the pro bowl roster

So it's not meaningless when he should've been there from the start

Drew Brees’ Pro Bowl snub is rectified

Posted by Mike Florio on January 23, 2017, 5:52 PM EST

NBC SPORTS

quote:

Saints quarterback Drew Brees should have made it to the Pro Bowl as part of the original roster. He didn’t. He now has.

The team has announced that Brees will replace Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan in the Pro Bowl. Ryan has a date with a slightly bigger game in Houston one week later.

It will be the 10th trip to the Pro Bowl for Brees and his ninth with the Saints. He generated more than 5,200 passing yards in 2017, the fifth time in his career he has broken that barrier. (There have been only four other 5,000-yard seasons in league history.) Brees also set an NFL record with 471 completions.

Brees has been performing at a high level for so long that his talents often get taken for granted. In a league that doesn’t have nearly enough great quarterbacks, the quarterback who recently turned 38 definitely will be missed when he’s gone.

The other NFC Pro Bowl quarterbacks are Kirk Cousins (who has replaced Aaron Rodgers) and Dak Prescott.

He has never had an All-Pro Wide Receiver.

Drew Brees is a walking living legend. His stats are pretty insane, and he’s consistently performing at a high level year after year. I hope he plays for at least another 5 years cause he’s a joy to watch.

Drew is the best of the best. He is often ignored because the SAINTS haven’t been relevant the past couple of years. But he just keeps on rolling up stats and breaking NFL records…..

well, perhaps if he didn't quite as large a contract, which would allow for a better overall TEAM, maybe they would have been more relevant and he wouldn't have been ignored so much... but you know... those Jimmie Johns aren't gonna open themselves...

cool... now, how many games have each of them played, respectively?

You realize from 2012-2015, Manning took up more cap space

How did the broncos build up such a good team?

People who make post like yours have no idea how the NFL salary cap works

neither you or i are cap gurus, i'll admit that.... but i know it well enough to know that the more money you spend at one position for one player, the overall quality of the team suffers, and the ONLY way to negate that is to draft well and meaningful contribution by players on their rookie contracts... we haven't done either, AND we pay him a large chunk of the available, non-"dead" cap... that's a bad combination for the overall health of the TEAM...

11... 11 total career playoff games... in 15 years...

and it would be impressive... if the numbers were correct... let me help you out, courtesy of pro-"soccer"-reference.com

1.) Rodgers 104.1
2.) R. Wilson 99.6
3.) Brady 97.2
4.) S. Young 96.8
5.) P. Manning 96.5
6.) Brees 96.3

Pretty substantial sample size actually. Enough to realize that he plays great in the playoffs
