Hopefully it will be addressed in the draft, I understand people are cheering for him; but do you really want a guy who can barely make the team at your slot WR. Which in the NFL nowadays is a starting WR especially in our offense.

Well, hell, Lance Moore was cut by the Browns before coming here.

Exactly. He's always been moore than capable of being on the 53, but he was just behind a guy that earned his stripes and wasnt gonna get beat out. Now that Lance is gone, Id imagine he gets his shot. But like was stated, saints may have different plans on that front. Not really sure about it.

And there is only 2 WR's on the roster that are guaranteed a spot (Colston, Stills).

I wish I could answer that question, but really it's up to the Saints. I think they go highest rated CB, but that's just my gut.

Tanner's story isn't much different than Moore's.

Tanner
quote:

Over three years from 2010 to 2013, Tanner was repeatedly signed to the practice squad, released, waived, or signed to a reserve/future contract, for a total of 33 roster transactions[1] before he finally made the Saints' opening day roster for the 2013 season.[2] However, after the Saints sustained several defensive injuries in their first regular season game, the Saints again cut Tanner from the roster in favor of linebacker Jay Richardson on September 12, 2013.[3] The Saints then brought Tanner back to the practice squad on September 17

Moore
quote:

2005 Lance Moore was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Cleveland Browns on April 29, 2005. He was later released and then signed to the New Orleans Saints' practice squad.[1] 2006 Moore was allocated by the New Orleans Saints to NFL Europe, where he played for the Berlin Thunder. He was on the Saints active roster for 6 games and saw action in four of those games with roles as a returner and wide receiver. He was waived by the team on the 29th of October and then re-signed to the practice squad the following day. 2007 On October 14, 2007 he got the first opportunity of his professional career to start. He started alongside wide receiver Marques Colston and scored the first touchdown of his career on a 7-yard end around against the Seattle Seahawks with 05:18 remaining in the second quarter.[3]

Basically both were on and off the practice squad for their first 3 years in the league. Moore got a little bit of action in his third year: 32 catches for 302 yards and 1 TD.

i dont think. I think we add one, or add an outside guy and let Stills play in the slot more.

Cooks is truly legit. He has elite speed, his hands are great, and he has really good body control and adjusts really really well in the air. He is like a pocket megatron.

is Cooks a true slot guy though? He's more of a steve smith type to me. Because of the reasons you listed above. I guess with the pieces we have now, he would almost have to play the slot for us

I think he could play both. I definitely don't see him as being limited to a slot guy.
