No flame here. There seem to be people on this board making fun of everyone wishing we had drafted a WR. Tell me something about our current receivers that should make me feel differently.

UDFA is still a thing

And are any of these guys in the later rounds better than what we have?

Drew Brees won a Super Bowl with a WR corp of Colston, Meachem, Henderson, and Moore.

Not necessarily the later rounds but the mid rounds. I was personally sure we'd draft a receiver at some point. Just looking for a different perspective.

Basically this. We have had good success finding Offensive players in UDFA. Why use a pick on someone you could get in UDFA?

Colston is the best WR in Saints history and Cooks is lighting in a bottle.

Josh Hill will be taking his game to the next level and Ben Watson is a very solid NFL TE.

We are also going to a more power run oriented offense and I expect us to have 2 TEs in the field a lot.

We just need someone to take that next step in their career and become a serviceable WR3 ( Nick Toon I'm looking at you).

We will be fine.

Imagine if Reggie Wayne was signed. His QBs in his career: Manning, Luck, Brees.

If the Saints weren't going to draft a WR in either round 1 or 2 (and I'm not going to criticize them for taking Peat instead of Parker, and for taking two needed LBs in round 2) then I'm not sure any WR they picked would have been an upgrade over the current WRs. Cooks and Colson are solid. Morgan will be back, is fast, and has produced in the past. We can hope Toon has a breakout year, not out of the question. Coleman and the other practice squad WR who's name escapes me also have realistic potential. All that said, wouldn't surprise me to see them sign a FA here (Welker?)
