They have the Saints taking Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama at #27.

Their 2013 third-round pick, Terron Armstead, still has some maturing to do at left tackle; Zach Strief’s set to become a free agent.

We're starting Armstead now.

They think we need an OT to let Armstead mature?

Not sure, it is SI

If TA plays well against Seattle, no matter if the Saints win or lose, you would think they go looking for a DB first pick, right?

I keep seeing mocks having another pass rusher as the Saints biggest need because that was their perceived need last year and they didn't address it.

A DB, an ILB, a WR.

Or BPA.

The FO is often right, but always surprising.

Cam is doing what we all thought he would and is beasting. The Saints have had a lot of sacks this year. They get Butler back next year. Not sure they go after a pass rusher in the 1st unless somebody drops into their lap that they can't pass up? But WTF do I know

value trumps positional need, ideally you find someone who hits on both

I could see Kouandjio as a can't pass on player at #32. Even more strongly, I count that as very improbable of happening.

Several other recent mocks

OKSt CB Justin Gilbert would be my guess today

Saints have been a pretty steady Beast Player Available team in recent years, though they did move up to get Ingram.

Yeah, that was my point. I was being sarcastic and making fun of those mock draft idiots. They all had the Saints going after pass rushers last year, and because the Saints didn't address it in the draft last year, in their minds the Saints still need to address it.

We were going after pass rushers, just not Jarvis jones.

I never said they weren't targeting pass rushers last year. The point is that just because the Saints ended up not drafting a pass rusher high last year, these mock draft guys still see that as a weakness that the Saints should target early, even though that clearly isn't the case this year.

Why wouldn't we still desire a pass rusher from the OLB position?

A good run blocking/poor pass blocking T isn't a big need for this team.

I think Butler was their way of filling the pass rusher need.

Why? The Saints have the #2 pass defense in the league. I agree that they could use some depth, but not with a 1st round pick. That would have the Saints taking a DB in the first round of 4 of the last 6 drafts.

Since losing Greer the Saints have allowed 216 yards per game which would still be good enough for 7th in the league.

With Strief and De La Puente both being UFA they should look to go OLine.

He would be a fantastic value late. He had a rough bowl game but so did a bunch f our defenders against Clemson before the mass exodus. I think Armstead is our guy but I've also wondered with his speed what he could do at RT getting out ahead of running plays.

It could be worse than having 2 young bookends for rest of Drew 's career.

ISWYDT and yes, I like him at 32. I also like a few other there as well

Yep. Beasley would also be nice and so would other players I think will be gone like Dennard and Verrett.
