We should be getting started here in Phoenix in about 10 minutes. Outside of the Cardinals table, Payton's table is by far the busiest.

Payton said he was in exile during the 2012 NFL draft discussions and just wanted to meet Johnny Manzielto get to know him. Payton said the meeting with Manzielwas short, but it was a good meeting. Manzielhas decent arm strength but has a lost of work to do, Payton said. Also said Manzielhas more than on-field work to do to get back.

Payton said he knows Brees plans on playing 2-4 more years. But the Saints are in the business of evaluating QBs like other years.

Most interesting things to me:
He really likes the RBs in this class and talked about it a lot.
He guaranteed we are adding another CB.
We are meeting with a player TONIGHT and he wouldn't say who.
He wants to add a young OL in the draft, something that really hasn't been on our radar.

Funny that I got a lot of shite for saying we weren't shopping Cooks and then Payton straight up says we weren't shopping him.
Also seems like any "locker room issues" may have been straight lies feed to the media.
I will say I was dead wrong on what I thought was a good deal for Cooks and what Payton and the the rest of the teams thought was a good deal.

Yes. It happens every year with several players.
Teams watch this stuff closely and know teams are more willing to trade players at the end of their contracts.
The Eagles actually tried to trade for him last year. Belichek has been infatuated with him since seeing him in joint practices. Titans are obviously WR needy.
