maybe if we keep all 9 picks we get 2. Strief is aging, Armstead appears to be doing well, only Bryce Harris (can be upgraded) is only halfway legitimate backup on roster. Big need here that's going unnoticed.

I don't think it's going unnoticed. A lot of us want La'el Collins

I'd even say there's 49% chance we draft a tackle before a guard...

To play guard. We need a tackle for depth, our starters are a strength

Exactly... I thought you were coming here to make a bold "in the first round" type prediction.

Even if he does start at guard, he can move over to Tackle if one goes down and Lelito can fill the guard spot

You don't see too many mocks with us nabbing one in top 3 rounds... i think its highly likely saints will see a Tackle prospect at one of these spots to pass up on.

I get the impression Lolell isn't thought to be good enough to make it as a tackle in the league. I agree that taking a developmental guy in the 2nd or 3rd isn't a bad option. My inside sources tell me that there are better prospects in this draft but they won't be ready to play immediately, thus going in rounds 2-3.

I've never liked that plan. After training at guard all offseason and in practice, we're just going to move a rookie to another position 1/2 way through the year. I don't like the idea of filling a hole and possibly making another one.

While I think his versatility is a plus down the line, you draft him to play guard, and you draft a tackle for depth.

Well he played tackle in college so it wouldn't be like learning a whole new position.

I'm talking about with the saints. They're is still a transition from college to the NFL

And like I said, his versatility is a plus down the road. I just think it's a little much to throw on a rookie

I also don't know how good of a tackle he'll be, but I think he'll be a great guard. I'd rather our strength be in the middle

You're quite the risk taker making this type of prediction.

I think Collins will be a good OT. He did well against some of the highest rated pass rushers in this draft.
So if you think they'll do well, then Collins should also do well.
So not only do you add a quality starter at guard, you have an immediate quality back-up at tackle.
Further, since Lelito is a quality back-up at guard and center, there would be depth across the entire line, with an immediate improvement in the middle.

You don't shuffle the line when one person goes down. If collins is our guard, he'll stay at guard.
