A) Nobody compared the 2 quarterbacks to each other. I compared their playoff records to each other.
B) Not worth my time to even try...
I'm out. Good luck this season. I actually hope Ingram has a good season/career... just an off game against the Birds.

Aaron Rodgers>>>Matt Ryan
GB Pass Rush>>>ATL Pass Rush
GB Secondary>>>>>>Atl Secondary
GB Playcalling>>ATL playcalling
GB Coaching Staff>> ATL Coaching Staff
ATL Running Game>>>>>GB running game
ATL needs a bit of work before having the success of GB in the playoffs, I'd also argue that with Rodgers being the significantly better QB ATL will have to ALWAYS surround Ryan with a very good power running game to open up play action, while Rodgers can pretty much carry an offense.
I don't want to call Ryan a game manager because he is better than that, but I do not think he will ever carry an offense for periods of time like Rodgers, Brees can.

comparing rodgers to ryan is like comparing a snowball to dog shite....or at least those crappy 12 pack little ice creams
Rodgers can carry a team, without a power running game Ryan has shown nothing.
Rodgers has been in the league for twice as long as Ryan and also had the privilege to learn behind Favre for 3 of those seasons. Ryan came into a terrible Atlanta team just after the Vick debacle and started from day 1.
Ryan has better statistics in his first 3 seasons than Brees did in his 1st 4(didn't start as a rookie). And for each of those seasons, Brees was playing with the best running back in the league at the time, LT.

Rodgers hasn't benefited from having a power running game like Ryan either. The majority of Ryan's success has come off of play action. Rodgers hasn't had the same such luck.
Rodgers also plays for a coach & a staff that hasn't babied him in his learning process. McCarthy hasn't handcuffed Rodgers & has allowed Rodgers to tale chances down the field. On the other hand, Smith & his staff has handcuffed Ryan. They don't allow him to take chances & lean more on the running game to aid Ryan. That's why I mentioned both Ryan & Smith together.
Rodgers also has one factor in his game that Ryan doesn't & that's Rodgers ability to create with his legs. It just brings another dimension to the table that defenses have to be aware of.
McCarthy/Rodger>Smith/Ryan

I would agree that the combination of McCarthy/Rodgers is better and Rodgers is a better QB but Ryan is much better than the people on this site make him out to be. Given each's time in this league and each's situation, Rodgers is not light years ahead of Ryan like many seem to believe.

Turner of the past 3 years was a top 5 RB when healthy and Ryan has Roddy White. Brees literally had NOBODY to throw to outside of Gates who was learning to play football at the time. Again without the power running game and threat of play action Ryan is significantly worse.

you started with this

our FO is so garbage, we completely sucked in the draft and FA and our team is old and crappy.
and followed with this.

Are you comparing Matty with fricking Brees? GTFO.

I'm just proving that for all the discussions about how bad Ryan is, he has put up better numbers in his first three seasons than Brees. It's obvious Brees is better but give the kid some time.

Ryan is a very good YOUNG QB,as is Rodgers.Bress is up there with Brady,Manning.I really hope we get lucky like ATL did when its time for life after the best football player ever .
This divison is stacked with great players. Its like the SEC in NFL

I do have a very deep seated hatred for the Falcons. Fortunately, mine is the healthy kind.

Because we all the know the Saints wouldn't do something like lay an egg against a sub .500 team in the playoffs.

You people crack me up.
The Falcons are doomed for losing to the Super Bowl Champs during the playoffs.
Yet having the defense shredded by a team with a losing record in the same playoffs means nothing negative for the Saints?
Not a Falcons fan but damn this is some funny crap.

We were decimated with injuries to our #4 defense and had absolutely no running game to rely on. We became one dimensional and Brees still managed to drop 30+ points on the road in a hostile environment. Falcons were at home and healthy. No excuse to get destroyed like that. Try again.

Listen to yourself.
The Falcons have no reason for losing to the SUPER BOWL CHAMPS so they will be terrible this year.
The Saints have 6000 excuses for losing to a TEAM WHO COULDN'T WIN 8 GAMES so the world is great.
That is some ridiculous shite.

I don't care how many weapons Ryan has, he doesn't seem like a quarterback that will light up a scoreboard. To me he's always been a solid, possession type quarterback. Adding Julio isn't going to make the difference everyone thinks it is IMO. Don't get me wrong, he's a great player with tons of ability, but that offense is, and should be, run first and pass for 1st downs. The don't appear to be a Saints/Colts/Patriots/Chargers type offense in terms of all the yardage and points and being able to throw the ball around at will.

The strength of our running game is going to push this Saints team over the hump. If our backs become a real threat, we're not talking a repeat, three-peat, or even four-peat. We're talkin' a minimum eight-peat.
