1.
quote:

The first shock of the draft. Games are won in the trenches, and while a combo of JJ Watt and Clowney is pretty tempting, a strong o-line is crucial to the long term success of a team, especially for a new coach. With the disparity at the QB position being relitively small, the Texans can afford to fortify their o-line and get their QB of the future in the 2nd round.

2.
quote:

The value here is too big to pass up. While defensive end is not a need for the team, the rotation of Quinn, Long and Clowney could help shift the balance of power in the division towards the mid-west.

3.
quote:

Not only do the Jaguars have a need at QB, they also need to give their fanbase a reason to get excited. After a solid showing in FA, the Jaguars front office finally give them an electric presence at QB, and a reason to pull the tarps off the seats.

4.
quote:

The combo of Watkins, Gordon and Jordan give whoever will man the helm of the Browns offense the tools they need to succeed. The Browns have the option of waiting until the 26th pick to bring in competition for Brian Hoyer, or grab their guy in the 2nd round.

5.
quote:

With Clowney and Watkins off the board, the Raiders set their sights on Khalil Mack. The Raiders are in immediate need of an instant impact player on the defensive side of the ball. Mack will provide that for them. He's one of the safer talents of the draft and that's exactly what Oakland needs after years of some misses. Oakland is in a win now mode, they have acquired matt schaub and have a coaching staff in place that needs to prove their self now. Drafting a new franchise qb is too risky for the organization at this point.

6.
quote:

Jake Matthews is Atlanta's safety net pick of the draft. With the way this draft has fallen, Atlanta is content to take him. Atlanta tried like hell to trade up, trade down, but at the end of the day they shite their pants and took a talented tackle that should help rebuild their pretty shitty offensive line.

7.
quote:

The Bucs have a new coaching staff and has filled many of their glaring needs. They are open to a number of different options with this pick. Drafting a future franchise qb wasn't on their list of needs but its definitely on the radar of highly interested. With their #1 rated qb prospect falling in their laps, they will not pass on Bortles. He's a local Florida boy that Lovie can see being his quarterback for years down the road. He can sit behind Josh McCown for maybe the 1st year. Mike Glennon is not Lovie's guy. Evans and Ebron were others considered.

8.
quote:

Vikings aren't in love with Teddy. They pass and will look at the position in later rounds. Vikings are high on Evans and have some big needs to fill on the defensive side of the ball. Pryor was of consideration but Justin Gilbert has what new coach Mike Zimmer wants. GIlbert has drawn many comparisons to Terrance Newman who has flourished under Zimmer's defensive scheme. Justin fills a tremendous need for the vikings and will make an immediate impact and upgrade for this team.

9.
quote:

With the top 2 tackles off the board, the second biggest need for the Buffalo BIlls is at the tight end spot. The Bills shocked everyone when they selected Manuel in last years draft, and they are looking to add a security blanket for their quarterback. Ebron racked up an ACC record of 973 yards at North Carolina last season and has the potential to give the BIlls a much needed weapon.

10.
quote:

With Mike Evans on the board, the Lions are tempted to pull the trigger on him to help pull attention away from Megatron. However, they have bigger needs to fill. Their defense is a major problem, and the Lions have to improve their secondary. By adding the 2013 Jim Thorpe winner, Dennard, the Lions take a big step in improving their defense

11.
quote:

The Titans were 21st in the NFL in sacks last season and must improve in this area. The Titans are moving to a 3-4 front under defensive coordinator Ray Horton, which creates the need for pass rushers. Barr has the athleticism and speed to be a force at the OLB spot for the Titans.

12.
quote:

The Giants have needs on the offensive line and defensive line, but this is too good of a value to pass on. The Giants struggled to protect Eli Manning, but they also need another wide receiver to play physical and get separation, Mike Evans can do that. This adds a much needed weapon to the Giants offense.

13.
quote:

After going luxury with the second overall pick and taking the consensus best player of this years draft in Clowney, the Rams address a need and beef up their offensive line.

14.
quote:

With their offense seemingly the stronger unit for the first time in franchise history, Chicago is revamping their once daunting defense. With their top corners off the board they will take the best defensive player available and a future monster on the inside.

15.
quote:

With holes everywhere on their team, Pittsburg is in a position to just take the BPA according to their board.

16.
quote:

Dallas needs a defensive line revamp in a bad way but has been hamstrung due to cap constraints. With the need for both defensive tackle and defensive end high on their list, they debated on going with one of the remaining tackles on the board and even considered the wildcard Hageman but Jerry needs sizzle and DTs just don't sizzle. With that said, Dallas goes pass rush and takes the best DE on the board.

21.
quote:

The Packers had needs at inside linebacker and safety, but with Mosley, along with the two safeties Clinton-Dix and Pryor off the board, they address another defensive need. Raji was god awful last year at NT and they need an injection of youth on the line. Hageman has Top 10 ability, but 3rd round drive. The Packers need to convince him to play every down.

22.
quote:

Kelly needs weapons to make his offense run like a fine-tuned machine, and the release of DeSean Jackson and the uncertainty of Jeremy Maclin made wide receiver a priority. Beckham Jr. is a home run threat and can still be a strong receiver in every other aspect.

23.
quote:

Alex Smith and Dwayne Bowe need help. The Chiefs could have addressed safety, but with Clinton-Dix and Pryor off the board, their decision was easy. While they probably rather Beckham Jr., who was taken a pick before, Lee is a solid consolation prize. A possession receiver with wheel to boot, Lee can take a good bit of pressure off of Bowe and give the offense another weapon.

24.
quote:

Roby's performance at the Combine solidified his spot here. The Bengals corners aren't getting any younger and Leon Hall needs some help. Roby is the style of speed corner that the Bengals have made the staple in their defense instead of bigger guys like Kyle Fuller, who was also considered here.

25.
quote:

They need more bodies on defense. They have very little at defensive tackle. DT Cam Thomas moved on to Pittsburgh. Jernigan might be able to start from day one if he proves it.

26.
quote:

Since they didn't go QB with pick 4, they'll go QB here. Bridgewater is still on the board. Even if teams are down on him, he still projects to have first round talent, and this pick is lagniappe anyway because they got it for trading Trent Richardson.

27.
quote:

I thought about going Benjamin, but WRs will be available later. I thought about Fuller, but I don't think it's as pressing a need with Bailey signed. So I went for the best pass rusher because Rob Ryan loves to disrupt on defense.

28.
quote:

You would think they'd go WR, but I don't think they're going to reach here. They didn't do it in free agency. And you can get starters at WR in later rounds, such as Keenan Allen and T.Y. Hilton. So instead, they go fuller and get another body to replace Captain Munnerlyn. They need them if they play Drew Brees and Matt Ryan 4 times a year.

29.
quote:

The Patriots have a pretty complete team in my eyes....not many weaknesses. They have built a strong team for this season, and I think they're poised for a SB run, even more than the last couple of years.

They could possibly use a Guard --Dan Connolly had a poor season. Sua-Filo would be a nice option for them here also.

...but I think they add the versatile Ryan Shazier to continue to bolster that scary looking defense.

30.
quote:

The Niners situation is not as rosy, imo...The injury to Navarro Bowman in the playoffs along with the coach/management feud and Kapernick's raping in his contract year makes their offseason interesting.

Their secondary looks weaker on paper...They could probably use a CB...they lost Carlos Rogers and are replacing Donte Whitner with Antoine Bethea at S. They could also be looking to find a replacement at QB and avoid the inevitable-over payment for Kap's services.

...they go with a WR here though....Boldin is old, Gore is old, and Crabtree is "sorry" and injury prone...They get a big guy on the outside to catch some jump balls from Kap.

31.
quote:

The Denver Broncos have really bolstered their defense this off-season...All the contenders are following the Seahawks model it seems and trying to create stud secondaries.

Von Miller is ridiculous...with him and newly acquired Demarcus Ware, they should have a better pass-rush, and now a very strong secondary on paper led by Aquib Talib and TJ Ward.

The offense should still be great after switching out Eric Decker for Emmanuel Sanders...The RB situation is a little bit concerning...Montee Ball and Ronnie Hillman are the guys as of now. Is Ball ready for a feature role?

Also, the biggest priority for the Broncos is and has always been protecting old, neck-hurt Peyton Manning...They have some nice tackles and a great guard in Louis Vasquez, but they choose to put another stud on the other side.

32.
quote:

The Seahawks have a great D...Their LBs are great, and their secondary is elite...The only thing I would say about their D is that last season they had a rotation of 4 solid pass rushers. So far this year, they're looking at Michael Bennett on a big new contract and Cliff Avril. They might like to add a DE to make sure they maintain a strong pass-rush.

Russell Wilson has surprised everyone on the offensive side. He has turned into a top QB in the league. They do have some weaknesses here though.

At WR, they should have Harvin back healthy, but they lose Golden Tate and Sydney Rice....Will Jermaine Kearse be a big-time player for them?

Seattle doesn't have a strong O-line at all....They could be a prime candidate for Sua-Filo or Zack Martin if either is still on the board.

They have Zach Miller at TE. He's OK, but at this pick they add a big pass-catching threat (something they don't really have). Lynch and that D is monstrous....Wilson can do the job...with a better O-line and receiving corps, the sky is once again the limit for this team.

It should. It shouldn't take more than an hour and a half. Two hours tops.

Also, I want to add some small paragraph with each pick, just explaining why it was the pick for the particular team.

Soon the entire first page of ST will be nothing but pretend mocks. Is this a running gag that I am missing?

Look guys, I don't really care. I don't want to clutter up the thread with this, so if you could, do me a solid and just drop it.

I submitted my picks in the OP.

I will take care of the headshots, I just need your pick and the small write up. I want a nice finished product, and not just a list of picks.
