That only applies if he didnt get drafted. You still are eligible to do so if you get drafted and dont sign, which he would of done at 7th round. Thus making it a dumb move to draft him

Seriously, shut the frick up about it. Oh dumbass saints organization! Idiots! When every other franchise did the same goddamn thing. Yes, we'd love to have him. But he said he wouldn't sign a contract on less than a third and took it to being an UDFA. He has also been in the midst of an extremely serious situation. He wants to go elsewhere apparently, let it go.

Makes sense on his part to basically shut down being dragted. He gets his second contract a year early (if he stacks up in the NFL), and he gets to choose where he plays. It'll hit him in the pocket on the first contract, but that second one is where the money comes anyway. Sucks that he had to go through this shite, but if his name is cleared, he'll get snapped up immediately. He'll get taken regardless.

You are right. We should have drafted him at some point. So what if Goodell dissuaded teams from taking him. He was draft eligible. Collins should file a lawsuit against the NFL and subpoena e-mails as well as people to determine the real reason 32 teams took a pass on him.

If he said he wouldn't sign if drafted after the 3rd round then does it mean he would have signed if drafted in the 3rd? Saints shouldn't have passed on a talent like that even with the risk involved if there was a reasonable chance of signing him.

Ya'll would be terrible negotiators. You call his agent's bluff and at worst you secure the right to talk contract with him until next year's draft. He's at much more at risk sitting out than you are with having a wasted 7th rder.
