All the scouts agree that Shaq Thompson is a 1st round talent. Maybe it's you that should go to the Browns office.

Maybe so... but the Saints DONT like to pick LB's in the 1st round.

go back and look at their draft history.

last one picked was in 1995... Mark Fields.

I think if anything happens to Lofton, we'll probably get someone else in free agency.

Totally unrelated to that the Saints LBs have sucked for the last 20 years.

Ever since Vilma left the team, we have been awful in LB coverage. We need to change that if we ever want to win a Super Bowl with Brees.

Retarded to shop him and rely on draft picks since we've done such a great job lately of drafting. He's not Mike Singletary or anyone but he's by far our best LB.

Agree mostly but Vilma was good his first few seasons with the Saints.

ever since he started to go downhill we've tried brining in free agents like Hawthorne and Lofton.

they just don't seem to like drafting a ILB.

They seemed interested in Alec Ogletree a few years ago. But he had some off the field stuff that might have hurt his draft stock.

getting a coverage LB could go a long way to giving you more flexibility in the secondary. I think eventually we'll get somebody.

in the next decade or two.

what the hell.

Just did the math and unless with Galette when it's trade or keep Lofton saves the same amount whether traded or cut ($4.25 mil).

So basically he's gone either way.

This isn't true. We were looking at both Mosley and Shazier but both went before we traded up.

Along with Ogletree, we have been looking at LB the last couple of years.

Ok, so they were looking.

but did nothing.

That has to stop at some point. If Lofton goes there goes another veteran presence in the lockeroom on defense.

a 6'0 225 linebacker that runs a 4.6 and you want to draft him

Most NFL scouts think he will transition to safety
Post less retard

I see where PFF gave Lofton a lower score than Hawthorne.

big whoop.

I wouldn't mind seeing Hawthorne hit the road.

As opposed to just drafting a player that had already been drafted as show of good faith?

I've been wanting both to hit the road. Haralson outplayed both and Humber is about as good but WAY cheaper.

I guess.

they aren't picking A LB this year. I don't even know why I'm getting my hopes up again.

Lofton actually had a better grade in coverage than Hawthorne did but both scores were poor anyway.

I just wonder why they don't value LB's as much.

I mean look at what Vilma did when he first got here. He made a difference.

Lofton has been okay but he started to fall off about half way through last year it seemed like. Course, it didn't help that the interior D-line had a off year.

he was getting washed out a lot of times on running plays.

No, Only one scout thinks He should be safety and that is Mike Maycock. Big Whoop.

Lot of other scouts think he can thrive at linebacker and safety too. That tells you how good he is.

Its like that smokin hot blond that somehow ended up in the backseat of your car throwing your and her clothes out the window.
It happens. Just not that often.
