More cap room plus the draft is deep at LB this year. Defense needs to get quicker especially the LBS.

Can't say I'm totally shocked as Hawthorne outplayed him last year, saves more money than cutting Hawthonre would, and sucks in coverage.
From a leadership standpoint this does surprise me because they talked about missing leadership last year and he was really the only leader figure left.
That said, his leadership most not have been that good as the defense fell apart.
Wonder if they are looking for player or draft pick and how high of a pick.

Yes it does when you have the worst LB corp in the league and at min he's due 6 million plus this year. So yea its smart to try.

Best case 3rd, wouldn't be surprised with a 5th either. Not a fan of this though he has his limitations. Unless we are making room for a great LB in FA, I think it will cost us. Don't have a strong draft record to rely on picking one up then.

A 3rd rounder would be very good value. I'd be happy for a 4th rounder. You can usually get some good MLB's in the middle of the draft. 5th rounder might not be enough value for us.
