Without reading 9 pages has it been brought up that a suspension could have been coming down from the leauge for the fight. That could have made this decision a little easier

How do you figure they screwed up with Graham?? Was his production since he has been there not enough to demand a nice contract??

So you figure they handled everything with Graham well, eh? Especially paying him all that money for 1 year?

I wasn't talking about Graham deserving money.

they went to win now mode and got away from what made them good for the last 9 years. recognizing how big a mistake this was and cutting ties now is important for the team the locker room

Agreed. They had to take the hit on Junior. It really sucks and as I said before, I really hope he's out of football for a little while to make that POS sweat. He doesn't deserve a 2nd chance but there will be teams lining up to give him 3rd and 4th chances most likely. I hope the NFL makes everyone's decision for them this season and he's suspended for the year.

Considering they weren't shopping him, I wouldn't say it was that big of an issue.

They were offered a 1st and an all pro caliber center on a good contract.

His production still warranted his cost if we were to keep him, the potential production you get from the trade could be worth more and that's why he was traded

Just in case anyone wants to hear about how Junyah really feels. He's using his girl's Twitter @_eboniii_ . It's hilarious

Sucks to lose a good player and had worker but I guess if he really was that much of a cancer and only played ball long enough to get paid then they had to do what they had to do.

inb4 mds mischaracterizes what I said in the other thread again.

Also to those asking about the cap it doesn't affect this season (except maybe saving us $100k on a workout bonus) but it adds $3.8m to next year's cap. That could have been a starter quality player so we basically lost one starter this year and two starters next year with this move.

Thats a bit heavy handed no?
As in that money guarantees a starter?
See a 2nd round CB that might not be on the team this year. Or a MLB that miami paid a boat load for that might be starting for us.

Remove cancers Bone no matter the cost and move on.

Anyone else a little bothered that this guy was voted captian last year? Seems like there were some serious locker room issues of this is the guy you want leading you on the field.

Glad to see the staff not screwing around with this.

Before last season they thought he was the perfect team guy. He fooled them that convincingly.

Sounds like a case of getting paid, letting it go to your head, then becoming an arse and getting stupid.

I am sure he wasn't this bad prior to getting paid. The only thing you can blame the front office for is not seeing this part of him prior to giving him the money.

Usually when you pay a guy $4m he will be a starter.

I never said anything about right or wrong, just noting what the move cost us.

And yes if SJB doesn't pan out you can look at that move as potentially costing us a starter, though the draft is much more of a crap shoot than free agency.

Maybe Junior has some kind of mental disorder? Players usually don't play it straight for a few years and then just melt down completely after getting paid. And then the Twitter comments and such? He's insane and I'm curious what team will sign him and for what price with all these documented problems.

Losing him sucks because the defense definitely got worse, however he was a one trick pony in terms of pass rushing. Couldn't assist with the run and sure as hell wasn't a great locker room leader.

I'm glad we (on the surface) drafted well and kept our picks. Hopefully these high character players will gel well with the current locker room and this team can rebound from a disappointing season. I don't think this year will be our year (though you never know with the NFL) but I do expect a more balanced team with a better offense and defense, and no head-shaking meltdowns on the sideline.
