Per Rotoworld...Nhamdi could come cheap to a contender since he is still going to make 4 million from the Eagles this season.

We'll know after today IMO. If he doesnt leave there with a deal hes ours to lose

The fact that he could come cheap gives me hope. That means it will basically come down to play for a Defense I've been successful under a coach I know on a contending team, or play for a successful defense on a contending team in the area I spent 8 NFL years and went to college.

or these guys are offering $4mil or these other ones are offering $5mil. That's if he wants a show-me deal to try and get one final longer term deal next year. If he doesn't think that's in the cards then someone offering 2-3 years, even a bit lower in cost would have attraction.

That's what I'm saying. The 49ers are stacked. The Smiths, Willis, Gore, Boldin, Crabtree, Vernon Davis, possibly Reed and Nnamdi. How can they freaking afford this?
Because Kaepernick 4yrs/$5.12mil <<<<< Brees 5yrs/$100mil
Our next two highest salaries are
SEDRICK ELLIS 5yrs/$33mil
Roman Harper 4/$25mil
the 49ers largest salary WAS Alex Smith
now there biggest salary is Justin Smith at 6yrs/$45mil

Why do people on this site always forget mentioning NaVorro Bowman? The 49ers extended him up earlier this year too; the dude is just as good as Willis.

hmm, maybe the situation is bigger than the bucks after seeing this rotoworld blurb...
Free agent CB Nnamdi Asomugha is visiting the 49ers Thursday.
It's already been reported that there's mutual interest here. The Niners are in the market for a bigger corner and Asomugha could be looking to return "home." He played his college ball at Cal and spent the first eight years of his NFL career in Oakland. Asomugha could come very cheap as he's still collecting $4 million from the Eagles in 2013 no matter what.
MFer I'm such a peon. I had vacation used deducted from the last job I left final check.

kinda sounds like Nnamdi may be another CB who never makes the trip to New Orleans.....efffff

Yeah sounds that way but I get the feeling Keenan Lewis will be a Saint today

Nnamdi is just a washed up white dude who just happens to look ....
He fits perfectly in the Bay Area.

I have a hard time believing Asomugha and his agent will agree to anything less that $5 million per year regardless of how much the eagles owe him.

I stand by my statement.
I wasn't arguing it, simply pointing out who is in better position in regards to cap space and draft picks to sign...Saints and Saints.

good info
team caps generally get tight with success. 37 wins in the three years prior to 2012 has driven that for the Saints. Same thing why Baltimore is lopping off well liked players.
Teams like the bucs have had cap room cuz they have sucked so bad. Okay, you spend it. Success comes or it doesn't but the cap space only goes in one direction. You perpetually have to hone the cap ala letting Meachem & Nicks go for nothing. The only way you get big space is by being very bad, blowing up the team, and starting over.
Everyone is ooing and ahhing over the niners. They are moving on in success after a 8 year playoff drought without a winning record. Okay, ya got it- like how we turned around here in '06. Maintaining that success 4-5 years later is a whole nutha ballgame.

I didn't think you were.
I was just trying to reassure myself there's no way that motherfricker plays for a third of last season's contract just be because the Niners are having cap issues.
