Nhamdi burned the Niners when they were pursuing him out of Oakland....he wanted way too much money. Obviously he didn't look so good for the scheme in Philly, but even in some man coverage packages he was toast. Best thing for him is to go to the team that will get the best QB pressure...and as much as I would love him in NOLA with the Saints, that is either Texans or Niners.

I hope K Lewis does not leave NOLA without being signed. Led league in passes defended I think? Has played mostly zone in Pitt but they must see something special about this guy.
Here's hoping the first signed FA today

The 49ers apparently have unlimited cap

Don't believe everything you read. The niners are virtually at the cap right now, and have 14 or 15 picks to sign. Obviously they will move some of them, but many of them they will keep or at least need to have the cap space open going in. They also return both of their starting CB's(Carlos Rogers and Terrell Brown), plus Chris Culliver for whatever that's worth. Terrell Brown has started every game the past two seasons at 28 years old. If they are going to squeeze anything in, I would think it would be a safety. They are the fans that should be screaming "with what money".

Harbaugh, being the a-hole that he is, is probably just trying to jack the price up on these players to frick with everyone else's cap. He may have a legitimate interest but I would not be shocked if he was just being a douche.

If Harbaugh does it, he's "being a douche." If Payton does it, he's a genius.

Well yeah. How long did it take you to figure this out?

I'm not high on the NOLA kid from Pittsburgh..he hasn't really done anything since he's been in the league...That doesn't sound like a huge improvement from White or PRob...or anyone for that matter.

Woodson should still be relatively cheap, especially to a contender like SF

I'm not big on him either but that's mostly due to ignorance on my part.

The coaches may see something that we're missing but I would be disappointed if we spent anything considerable on him.

That's what happens when your QB is still on his rookie contract and not making $20 Mill a year.

I think Woodson will give a contender discount to a team he feels is close. Ed Reed I think is trying to make bank again.

That's what I'm saying. The 49ers are stacked. The Smiths, Willis, Gore, Boldin, Crabtree, Vernon Davis, possibly Reed and Nnamdi. How can they freaking afford this?

I'm thinking just like Cox, he doesn't leave the bay area without a deal in place.

I disagree. I would love for the saints to sign keenan lewis. Hes not going to set the world on fire but he has good ball skills (Much better than almost every DB currently on the roster). He had a ton of passes defended, which makes sense because he played opposite Ike Taylor (who I think is a top 5 CB in the league right now).

I'm most excited about Lewis being a real possibility. If ya aren't familiar my outline would be-

-3rd Rd pick by Steelers
-brought along slowly as the Steelers often do
-had some nice fill-in work for Polamalu when injured
-took over as fulltime starter last year
-he'll be 27 this year entering his prime

Had a very solid season as reflected by PFF FA CB ratings here

One good season isn't the track record of some other free agents. But that is a benefit to a cash strapped team like the Saints. One more year like last year and he would be getting elite out of our reach kinda money. Always a possibility he could give a little hometown discount as well. He sounds excited to visit.

Infusion of a not old up-n-comer at an affordable deal would be a 5 star signing IMO. Love signings on the upside rather than the downside hoping they can recapture a little of the past.

Well that make me feel better.

I still don't see how SF is going to afford Nnamdi
