Packers risked releasing rookie QB Taysom Hill hoping he'd get through waivers. He did not. Off to #Saints he goes.
Saints also claim Patriots WR Austin carr
Hill was an undrafted free agent out of BYU. During his college career, he threw for 6,929 yards, ran for 2,815 yards and had 75 total touchdowns. The 27-year-old signed with the Packers on May.
During the preseason, Hill went 14-for-20 for 149 yards and two touchdowns through the air. The rookie also had 10 carries for 71 yards and a score.
Carr was a standout during training camp and his practice performances translated to the preseason games: He finished the exhibition period as the Patriots' leader in catches (14), yards (153) and receiving touchdowns (2) and displayed solid chemistry with backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

Can you give us your thoughts on Carr?
I have to say I'm a fan based on some clips I saw

He was the media darling of the preseason for sure. Pats tried to stash him and it didn't work. Think he's got a lot of potiential and glad he atleast went to another offense that fits his strengths

How many WRs do the saints normally carry? Only have 4 right now.

I think Snead's suspension opens up 1 spot, so I think only 1 guy gets cut.
Probably Edmunds, or even a veteran like Tapp (to not guarantee his salary all season?)

No, the final 53 we made yesterday did not include Snead. We have to get rid of 2.
The only spot we can free up is 1 for Breaux to IR, but I'm not quite sure when we can apply that.

Sooooo we carrying 3 QBs or all-in on an UDFA QB?
I'm cool either way

Good to know. I think once Breaux officially made the final 53, only then can he be placed on IR-DTR.
So the Breaux move to IR counts for 1 of the 2.
The decision may be pending who all we sign to the PS.

Austin Carr is a good pickup. The Saints are notoriously bad at rebounding.

27 year old rookie?
Checks out

Tapp - he knows he'll have a place/rotation on this roster this year; he's one of those cut/replaced vets so he's easily the #1 guy on the list
Edmunds - surprise guy, I think he's also going to be in-out all year.

Would be my guess too. We'll try to stash the QB on the PS in a week or two, but I'm curious to see if we roster the receiver until Snead gets back.

Week one rosters can be weird. Back in 2014 we only carried 4 week one.
Normally it's 5 or 6, but only a 6th if they grealy contribute on special teams.
Only 4 are active on gameday, unless again one is a special teamer.
