Patty,
You keep spouting this garbage about Vitt being incompetent at his job...
Two issues:
1) I think VERY highly of Sean Payton, as do most Saints fans who have been paying attention to the GOLD STANDARD organization he has helped forge the Saints into. If Payton has him on board, I'm CERTAIN he's not keeping him around cuz he's a buddy--it's cuz hes a damn good coach.
2) Payton wouldn't look like the offensive genius with Mark Sanchez running the offense--let's not overlook the pieces Vitt has had to work with at LB--Shanle, Dunbar, injury-prone Casillas, and suddenly rapidly-aging Vilma.
Give the talent upgrade at LB a chance to influence your opinion regarding Vitt's level of Competence. On top of that, reexamine just what you think is going to be required of the "acting head coach" Vitt. He doesn't need to make a mark-he just needs to run what Payton has put in place.
Lighten up on Vitt--Payton has him around because he's a valuable member of a Damn good Coaching staff in a Damn Good organization.
They're not infallible--but they have earned the respect as the NFL's Current GOLD STANDARD.

People need to chill out. Worse case scenario is we have a bad year. Everyone has already predicted that anyway. At least this guarantees that Sean will return next year. Lets sign brees, and we win 9 games automatically. Spags will help win more too. At least we arent razorback fans.

Yeah, well, that's pretty bad.
Every year we still have Brees needs to be a year that we're superbowl-eligible.

I think this is the best news, this means that Payton will definitely be back and there will not be any confusion of whos boss

Yeah, this team has never made any bad coaching decisions before.

Not great talent, no, but if you're coaching them, can you teach them some fundamentals? Thanks.
Maybe Vitt is a better manager than he is a coach. That's all well and good, but I still think it would have been better to go with Kromer.

If you bring in an outsider then they wanna change things, I think this is probably the best move as far as keeping everything running the same for the players. Spags is gonna change the defense and the offense just needs to keep chugging along. By promoting guys from within you keep everything the same so there's no transition to make again when Sean get back

Seemed to fill in well for CSP.
Players seem to have no problem with him.

Moving on and glad they have found their guy.
It really is the best way to maintain continuity in the Saints organization and it makes the transition back to Sean Payton that much smoother upon his return.
Some people need to take a step back and look at the big picture.
